STARBASE Wisconsin is proudly sponsored by the Wisconsin Air National Guard, with funding from the U.S. Department of Defense. The Department of Defense, as the largest employer of both civilian and military scientists, is a significant stakeholder in the preparation of America's greatest economic and intellectual resource-it's workforce. The STARBASE programs around the country (59 STARBASE sites.) were established to raise the interest and improve the knowledge and skill of students is STEM, and to provide for a highly educated and skilled American workforce that can meet the advanced technological needs of our nation. By leveraging community and DoD resources, this program is offered free of charge to Milwaukee schools.
