of WiseOwl Capital, LLC, graduated from Rice University in Houston, Texas, earning a degree in Economics. After spending a few years with a financial planning and investment firm in Houston, Chris opened up his own firm to focus predominantly on investing on behalf of his clients. Specifically, he wanted to use his passion for learning about businesses to invest only in the best ideas and invest a substantial amount of his own net worth in this way. Instead of outsourcing to mutual funds, alternatives/ hedge funds or other investors, which was also added incremental costs, he would seek out investments through a significant amount of due diligence and "kicking the tires". Established with the fee structure of fee-based only Maverick Financial Group, LLC was founded in early 2011. The name changed to WiseOwl Capital, LLC in late 2013 due to name conflicts with the original firm name and another investment firm. Chris has been in the business since 2009 and has managed his own firm since early 2011. In addition to being a student at Rice, Chris was a walk-on for the Men's Basketball Team. A native Houstonian, he is a proud graduate of St. Thomas High School. He currently holds the Series 7 & 66 securities registrations. Chris is married, has 3 children, and currently lives in The Woodlands, Texas.
