Ashley D. Marks

Ashley D. Marks is a Partner at Hankey Marks & Crider, which she joined in 2011. She had previously worked at the firm for two years as a Law Clerk while she finished law school. Her primary practice areas are Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability, Personal Injury, ERISA, life insurance litigation, and Social Security Disability. She attended law school at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, graduating in 2011. Prior to this, she attended Indiana University, where she obtained two Bachelor degrees in English and Philosophy. While in law school, she was an intern for the Indiana University School of Medicine's legal department. She also served on the board for the International Moot Court Competition as a writer, and was awarded the best overall written brief during the school's 2010 annual competition. During her legal career, Ashley has been recognized as an Advocate by the American Association for Justice. In 2014, she was named as one of the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 under 40. She has also been named as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers for numerous years, from 2015-2021. In addition, she remains active in several professional legal organizations. Ashley considers herself blessed to be a part of the legal community as a whole. As an attorney, she prides herself on attention to detail, being compassionate to the needs of others, and being diligent in the representation of her clients. She is proud to help lead the legal team at Hankey Marks & Crider, an office committed to serving the injured and disabled throughout Indiana and the Midwest. Ashley truly enjoys serving within her community. Professionally, she regularly represents Hankey Marks & Crider at various events which provide support for individuals living with disabilities. Personally, she frequently volunteers at her church, and her town's local foodbank. One of her favorite events to participate in at her church is Night to Shine, which provides an unforgettable prom experience for individuals with special needs. In her free time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her son and family, cheering on her favorite sports teams (Braves, Pacers and Colts), and traveling. She also enjoys anything that keeps her active, including rock climbing and running. She regularly runs half marathons, including all her local favorites: the Indianapolis Half Marathon, the Monumental Marathon, and the 500 Mini Marathon.

Barbara Arellano

Barbara Arellano, raised in Martinsville, Indiana. Graduated in 1990. Served in the United States Navy from 1991 to 2000. I have been married for 15 years to my loving husband. I have three raised children and one grandson. I am fluent in Spanish, have spoken it since 2003. I love cooking, reading, and write short stories. I love the beach and anything water related.

Frida Levario

Frida was born and raised in Mexico for six years before moving to California. She moved to Indiana with her family in the year 2008 and even though she still can't get used to the cold winter days, she has her own family now, which makes Indiana homier for her. Frida studied criminal justice for a while and then changed to early childhood education. She has worked in a couple of different places which have led her to find a passion in helping others. Now she is working as attorney Daniel M. Randolph's paralegal and is ready to assist the Hispanic community in Indiana. Frida nació en la Ciudad de México y creció allí por seis años antes de mudarse a California. Jacqueline Hensley

Jacqueline Hensley joined Hankey Marks & Crider in 2023. She focuses her practice on personal injury, products liability, and wrongful death claims. At a young age, Jacqueline knew she wanted to be an attorney. She received her undergraduate degree in political science from Hanover College in 2019. She then attended the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, earning her Juris Doctor degree in December 2021. Prior to joining Hankey Marks & Crider, she was a Deputy Prosecutor, handling a large caseload of level six felonies and misdemeanors. As a Deputy Prosecutor, Jacqueline gained an extensive amount of experience both in and out of the courtroom. She is now using those skills to help her injured clients get the justice they deserve. In her free time, Jacqueline enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog. She likes to listen to podcasts, try different coffee shops in Indianapolis, and be outside.

James M. DuBach

James "Jim" DuBach has been practicing law for over thirty years. He has extensive experience in civil litigation and federal law involving Personal Injury and Social Security Disability. His primary practice areas are personal injury, long term disability and social security disability. Formerly, Jim served as a deputy prosecutor for twelve years in Illinois and Indiana prosecuting major felonies. He graduated from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1982. While there, he served as a member of the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal and was published for his work on U.S. Supreme Court cases dealing with the termination of parental rights. In addition to his Juris Doctor, Jim has a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois, a Master's degree in Pastoral Ministry and a Bachelor of Science degree, both from Loyola University. Jim is the parish coordinator at St. Vincent de Paul Distribution Center and he and his family are active in his church. He enjoys choir and religious studies in his free time.

Kirsten E. Wold

Kirsten Wold started as a law clerk for Hankey Marks & Crider in 2003. She became a full time associate after graduating from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of law in 2006. She earned her Bachelor's degree in psychology and political analysis from Miami University in Ohio. Her primary practice area is Social Security Disability, with a specific focus on Federal Court Appeals. Given her focus on Federal appeal litigation, Kirsten dedicates her time to reading decisions, writing legal briefs, and researching case law to support our clients' cases at this technical and time consuming appellate level. She currently lives in Miami, Florida, while working for Hankey Marks & Crider from her home that she shares with her husband and animals. Living in Miami allows Kirsten to live closer to family, both her parents and in-laws, as well as the opportunity to watch her niece and nephew grow up. When not working, Kirsten loves to travel, read and paint, whether it be the walls of the house or artwork to hang on those walls. Despite her Florida address, Kirsten still considers herself an Indiana girl and takes advantage of every opportunity to visit home or root for her Indiana teams.

Melissa A. Davidson

Melissa A. Davidson is an attorney at Hankey Marks & Crider. She's been with our office since 2000, and handles cases in the areas of Social Security disability, long term disability, personal injury, ERISA and life insurance litigation. She also works with veterans by helping them with their VA disability claims. She earned her law degree from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She was a member of the Indiana International and Comparative Law Review and completed her studies in the evening while working for the office full time during the day. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in psychology from Ball State University. Before becoming an attorney, she worked as an investigator for Child Protective Services in the Indiana Department of Family and Children. She also managed a group home for mentally challenged adults and worked at a treatment facility for mentally ill youth. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Michael Phelps

Michael "Mike" Phelps is a personal injury and wrongful death litigation attorney at Hankey Marks & Crider, representing clients with catastrophic injuries and the families of victims of wrongful death negligence in the fields of general personal injury, interstate trucking, defective products, and medical malpractice. Mike has tried well over 100 jury trials as lead counsel and co-counsel in both State and Federal Courts across Indiana. Some of Mike's notable verdicts include a wrongful death verdict of $157,000,000; auto negligence verdicts of $26,000,000, $5,600,000, $3,000,000 and $1,250,000; a products liability verdict of $8,000,000; and recent slip-and-fall verdicts of $4,000,000 and $800,000. These represent just a small sampling of cases Mike has litigated over the course of his career. Of particular note, he was lead counsel at trial and argued the seminal cases of Stanley v. Walker, Humphrey v. U.S. Xpress Trucking and Reese v. Tyson Fresh Meats before the Indiana Supreme Court. Mike has also handled dozens of other reported appellate cases. Mike is a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, with degrees in Sociology and Political Science. He graduated from law school in 1998 and earned his J.D., with honors, in only 2 ½ years from The Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to joining Hankey Marks & Crider in 2022, Mike's legal career spanned 24 years in the personal injury and wrongful death arenas. He began his legal career in 1998 defending various types of negligence and product liability cases until he switched sides in 2005. A heart wrenching story about Mike "switching sides" was published in The Indiana Lawyer in 2011. He was also featured in a 2009 Forbes article called "Legal Movers and Shakers," following a successful trial in Lafayette involving a tragic, avoidable incident where a man was killed by a needlessly defective product. Mike has also appeared on numerous local news stations, and even on Good Morning America, regarding his cases. Mike has presented dozens of topics at many legal seminars, ranging from voir dire, closing arguments, calculating damages and the trial process. For the past 9 years, he has presented the torts section at the Annual Indiana Law Survey, presented by the Indiana Supreme Court and Indiana Courts of Appeals. Mike is active in the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association as a Sustaining Member and is on their Board of Directors, ITLA College of Fellows, the American Association for Justice, and The Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forums. Mike has been voted an Indianapolis Monthly Super Lawyer every year since 2012. Mike was born and raised in Richmond, Indiana, and was a three-sport athlete growing up. Mike and his wife Tina, of 27 years, are avid dog lovers, are active in the ASPCA, and they love to travel. Mike is also a professional poker player, playing in various tournaments in Las Vegas annually and occasionally the World Series of Poker, calendar permitting.

Stacy J. Crider

During her undergraduate years at Indiana University, Ms. Crider worked for the Innocence Project, which honed her research skills as well as encouraged her to go on to help others in the legal field. Ms. Crider has been sworn to argue cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and was honored to be sworn in by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Stacy J. Crider is a Partner at Hankey Marks & Crider, which she joined in 2010. Her primary practice areas are Social Security Disability, Worker's Compensation, and Personal Injury. She graduated from law school in 2009, and earned her J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. While in law school, she served as a student attorney for the Criminal Defense and Wrongful Conviction Clinic where she represented clients pro bono in the Marion County D Felony Court, as well as worked on wrongful conviction appeals. She was a member of Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity and was selected as a pupil for the Indianapolis branch of the American Inns of Court. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice with minors in Psychology and Political Science from Indiana University. While at Indiana University, she was chosen to work for the Innocence Project as a research assistant, a cause which remains very important to her. Stacy always wanted to be in a profession where she could help others which is what led her to practice law. As a Social Security Disability attorney, she prides herself on advocating hard for her clients while also being compassionate, straightforward, and honest with them. Prior to joining Hankey Marks & Crider, Stacy worked as a criminal defense attorney in Bloomington, Indiana. In June 2019, she traveled to Washington, DC, and was sworn into the Supreme Court of the United States Bar, which gives an attorney the ability to file a case with the High Court. She was honored to be sworn in by all members of the SCOTUS, including one of her personal heroes, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Mrs. Crider was born and raised in Columbus, Indiana. Stacy enjoys traveling with her family and providing fun and meaningful experiences for her three children, Sam, Max and Millie. In her spare time, Stacy loves to run, attend concerts, sing, kayak, and spend time relaxing with family and friends at any lake or beach.
