Alba Munoz Saiz

Alba is a sustainability strategist based out of our Boston, MA office. She focuses on strategic projects related to sustainability, diversity and inclusion, stakeholder engagement and event planning and execution. Prior to Attention Span, Alba spent 8 years at Ceres - a sustainability advocacy organization - where she managed relationships with a cross sector group of companies including Disney, Hershey's, General Mills, Ben & Jerry's and Aveda and led a network of 100+ nonprofit organizations, coordinating strategy, stakeholder engagement and outreach efforts. Alba holds a Masters in Corporate Social Responsibility from the EOI business school in Madrid and a sustainability certificate from Harvard Extension School.

Bonnie Tsui

Bonnie is a storytelling expert at Attention Span Media and also a contributor to The New York Times and the author of the award-winning American Chinatown. She has written about big-wave women surfers, the Baghdad swim team, Hong Kong's rooftop farmers, and more for California Sunday, Pop-Up Magazine, and The New Yorker online. Her next book, Why We Swim, will be published by Algonquin Books in Spring 2020.

Chris Colin

Chris Colin has written about Japan's rent-a-friend industry, Obama's Irish roots, chimp filmmakers, ethnic cleansing, George Bush's pool boy, blind visual artists, solitary confinement, the Yelpification of the universe and more for the NewYorker.com, the New York Times Magazine, Saveur, the Atavist, Pop-Up Magazine, Outside, Wired, Smithsonian, Mother Jones and Men's Health. He's a contributing writer for California Sunday Magazine and Afar. He's the author most recently of What to Talk About, as well as What Really Happened to the Class of '93 and Blindsight, named one of Amazon's Best Books of 2011. In 2015 he co-wrote This Is Camino, which was nominated for a James Beard Award. He teaches writing at the San Francisco Writers' Grotto and was an early editor at Salon.

Ethan Fletcher

Ethan is an interdisciplinary designer & programmer working out of the Ithaca, NY design lab. Specializing in website production and human computer interactions, he has experience working with everything from print media to virtual reality environments. Previously, Ethan worked as a front end developer at several website startups and spent several years as an undergraduate researcher and designer at Ithaca College. While there, he worked with a team of researchers and faculty members creating an interactive, narrative-driven, purposeful game to mimic the kind of informal foreign language acquisition students can experience while studying abroad. Ethan received his B.S. in Emerging Media from Ithaca College, where he also triple-minored in Web Programming, Game Development, and Computer Science.

Ethan Watters

Ethan is a journalist and futurist who has spent the last two decades writing about culture and psychology. He is the author of Crazy Like Us: The Globalization of the American Psyche and Urban Tribes: A Generation Redefines Friendship, Family, and Commitment. His writing has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Outside, Discover, Men's Journal and Wired, among other national publications.

Garrett Law - Chief Strategy Officer

Garrett leads strategy development for Attention Span's clients in food, health and nutrition. An Emmy-winning technologist, Garrett honed his savvy as VP, CFO and general manager of KHIZ-TV Los Angeles as the youngest GM in LA television. He oversaw all operations of the station and company, executing its successful turnaround and engineering overhaul. Before KHIZ, he helped launch Global Outsight-a biotech and media strategy and M&A consultancy in Cambridge, Massachusetts-and was on the staff of the mayor of Boston as the analyst for the Boston Fire Department. He is a Harvard graduate who studied engineering and the History of Science. Garrett is chairman of the Cancer Nutrition Consortium, a volunteer firefighter, and served on the boards of Find the Cause Breast Cancer Foundation and Project Hope Alliance.

Jake Leithiser

Jake is a Digital Marketing Manager specializing in SEO, digital campaign management, and data analysis. Before coming to the Attention Span team, he worked as an account manager for a marketing agency handling all digital needs for a wide range of partners. Jake received his B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Maine where he also double minored in English and Innovation Engineering while also serving as a 2x captain of the men's track and field team.

Josh McHugh - CEO

Josh's experience at the intersection of technology, media and business began at Forbes Magazine, where he chronicled the brainiacs and billionaires behind the turn-of-the-century tech upheaval, while opening Forbes' Bay Area offices. Before joining Attention Span in 2008, he was a contributing editor at Wired Magazine and a writer for Vanity Fair, Outside, and shelfloads of other publications. He has also worked as a copywriter for advertising juggernauts Wieden + Kennedy and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. A cable series based on his Wired story "Drug Test Cowboys," about professional pharmaceutical trial participants, was sold to Comedy Central. Josh graduated from Yale in 1992 with a BA in English and holds a certification in Sustainable Capitalism & ESG from Berkeley Law. His efforts to dunk a basketball are the subject of Dunkumentary, a documentary that screened at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. From 2010 to 2014, Josh served as president of the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco's INFORUM division.

Larry Habegger

Larry is managing editor for special projects at Attention Span, and cofounder and executive editor of Travelers' Tales publishers, where he has worked on all of the company's 160-plus books and helps oversee their publishing program. For three decades he wrote a newspaper column about travel security, as well as articles in major newspapers and magazines. He is also cofounder of The Prose Doctors, an editors consortium with more than 125 years of collective editorial experience. He grew up in Richfield, Minnesota, where he returns often, and moved to San Francisco after graduating from Dartmouth College with a BA in English.

Laurie Jusseaume

Laurie is a key member of our leadership team with a range of responsibilities. She assists with strategic and business planning, managing our accounting and finance operations, budget development and oversight, as well as human resources management. She received her Masters of Business Administration from The University of Illinois at Chicago, where she studied finance and management. She also holds a BA in Economics from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

Peter White - Chairman

Peter leads the team at Attention Span, after a decade as CEO of a Cambridge, MA strategy consulting firm where he successfully created new companies and turned around underperforming ventures. Before ASM, Peter was the CEO of KHIZ-TV Los Angeles and of Initial Broadcasting of California, where he led the transformation of an underperforming LA broadcast station into a cash-flowing digital TV pioneer, winning an EMMY in the process, culminating in a hugely successful exit. Peter graduated from Hamilton College and did his graduate work at Harvard University, where he taught Asia-related economic development courses for 8 years.

Tyson Law

Tyson manages the design team in Ithaca, NY and is a multidisciplinary designer who specializes in user experience design and architectural environments. Tyson received his Master's in Architecture (M.Arch) from the Weitzman School of Design (PennDesign) at the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied environments, digital fabrication and parametric design. Previously, he worked as a user-interface designer, graphic designer and web developer for Digitas, Avery Dennison, iBelong, Fidelity Investments, and Global Outsight LLC. He also holds a BS in Electronic Media, Arts & Communication from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In his spare time, he designs buildings and crafts breathtaking fly-fishing nets.

V. Scott Balcerek

Scott is a feature film editor turned writer/director. His latest work, the award-winning feature documentary SATAN & ADAM, was produced by The Kennedy/Marshall Company and purchased by Netflix. Scott edited MORE THAN A GAME, a feature documentary about LeBron James, which was released by Lionsgate and nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. He directed REPLAY, a branded doc series for Gatorade that received numerous advertising accolades, including Gold Lions at Cannes, an Andy award, two AICP Next awards and three One Show awards. REPLAY was also nominated for a Sports Emmy. Prior to directing, Scott was the Senior Visual Effects Editor for George Lucas' STAR WARS films, Episodes I and II, as well as Ang Lee's THE HULK and Wolfgang Petersen's THE PERFECT STORM. Scott attended the American Film Institute in Los Angeles while editing a short documentary, STREET SONGS, which received a Student Academy Award.
