CGIF

CGIF was established in November 2010 to promote financial stability and to boost long-term investments in the ASEAN+3 region (the "Region"). CGIF provides guarantees to local currency denominated bonds issued by corporations in the Region which paves the way for corporations to issue local currency bonds with longer maturities. This will make the Region's financial system more resilient to volatile global capital flows and external shocks and help reduce the currency and maturity mismatches which caused the 1997-1998 Asian financial crisis... The year 2022 was a challenging year for many industries and sectors. Two years after the global pandemic that shook the entire world, we are still coping with the aftermath. Through hard work and sheer determination, Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility, a trust fund of the Asian Development Bank (CGIF), tackled the many difficult tasks that came with the fallout from the ensuing health crisis...
