APPLE COUNSELING AND CONSULTING NETWORK - Key Persons

Andrew Apple

Job Titles:
  • Chief Growth Officer
If Apple Counseling had a secret weapon, its name would be Andrew Apple. Andrew dips his toes in a little bit of everything here at Apple Counseling. As Chief Growth Officer, he's in charge of streamlining parts of the business that aren't operating efficiently, facilitating the onboarding process for new therapists joining the company, and setting up and opening new offices when we expand. Thanks to his technical mind, Andrew creates programs that allow specific tasks of the practice to operate more expediently and even automatically. Although Andrew got a degree in Electrical Engineering and Math from SMU, he always knew he wanted to go into business. Before coming to Apple, Andrew spent his summers interning at a cybersecurity company. While he enjoyed the opportunity that the experience afforded, he realized he could get more comprehensive expertise by working for his family's company, which allows him to put his hands into multiple facets of running a business. Now, he uses his problem-solving skills developed from his educational background to help the company grow in ways that weren't previously possible. Waking up at 5:00 in the morning to start his day and going to bed by 9:00 at night, Andrew is incredibly disciplined. He claims that instead of waking up to start working, he'd rather wake up to start his day. If that doesn't sound like something the son of a therapist would say, I don't know what is. When he's not answering emails, writing programs, or putting out small fires, he loves to hit the gym. In fact, it's his favorite part of the day. Even though he's incredibly left-brained, Andrew has a creative knack for woodworking, blacksmithing, and book-binding. If he's starting to sound like an 18th-century artisan to you, we're on the same page. Not the kind of guy who backs down from a challenge, Andrew is incredibly ambitious and goal-oriented. He doesn't just want to see Apple Counseling grow for the sake of business. He truly believes the structure established at Apple Counseling can be beneficial for therapists around the country. By alleviating the amount of nonsense therapists have to do behind the scenes, they can focus on their clients, which is a win for everyone. Andrew is working his hardest to make sure the business, the counselors, and the clients receive the best care possible, making him a tremendous asset to the team.

Michelle Apple - CEO, Founder

Job Titles:
  • CEO
  • Founder
  • Member of the Leadership Team
Michelle never dreamed her early interest in college psychology classes would lead to being at the helm of a successful counseling network of three brands in nine Texas cities employing more than 50 counselors. To think, it all started in the early 1990s when she as one lone recovering Cajun provided therapy in a dinky little closet that rented for a whopping $75 a month. Michelle grew up in Baton Rouge, La. Her mother was a teacher and father coached men's gymnastics at Louisiana State University (LSU). She landed a tennis scholarship at Millsap where she played and studied for three years and then finished her course load at LSU where she received her undergraduate degree - in three and a half years total. Let's geaux! She migrated north to get her Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University in 1991. After receiving her diploma, Michelle returned to Texas to thaw out where her career started at Buckner Children's Home and Promise House in 1993. She has practiced as a License Clinical Social Worker in Texas ever since. Remember the cheap, dinky closet? Back to that. Working in the closet as a sole provider was a lonely game for Michelle. She aspired to make a greater community impact. She identified that better outcomes were delivered through collaboration. Michelle set out to form a team. And did.
