GO FINE WOODWORKING - Key Persons

Gerhard Osterberger

Gerhard Osterberger was born in 1962 in Ebratshofen, Germany, a tiny village nestled in the Bavarian Alps. It was in this extraordinary setting that he began developing his skills as an artist and a woodworker. Gerhard spent three years as an apprentice learning traditional woodworking methods from some of Bavaria's great master craftsmen. His mentors taught him many of the old-world techniques used in joinery, custom finishing and inlay work. As Gerhard refined his skills as journeyman, he began to travel throughout Europe and the U.S. in order to expand his knowledge of furniture design. However, his love to travel eventually took him around the world. In 1989, Gerhard landed in Hawaii, where he fell in love with the beauty of the islands and the warmth of its people. In Hawaii he was introduced to exotic woods like Koa and Mango. It wasn't long before Gerhard established his own business creating gift items and designing and building furniture and custom interiors. He likes challenging projects in a variety of styles and designs. All pieces are made with the same attention to detail. He can create the piece of furniture you desire!
