Rebecca Christensen is a professional genealogist residing in Lawrence, Kansas. Rebecca began researching her own family in 1980 and has been a professional genealogist since 1995. She has volunteered at her local Family History Center since 1988 as a family history consultant assisting patrons in research problems in locations worldwide. In 1997, Rebecca became a regular staff member at the Lawrence Kansas Family History Center and has been the Family History Center director since 2005. She first became involved with DNA testing in 2001 with two surname projects which she now manages. Rebecca has been a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists since 1995 and was a co-founder of the Association of Professional Genealogists Heartland Chapter in 2001. She currently serves as the chapter president. Rebecca abides by the association's Code of Ethics. She also follows the Genetic Genealogy Standards. Rebecca is a graduate of ProGen Heartland 2 (October 2012). Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP) coursework includes: Advanced Genetic Genealogy course coordinated by CeCe Moore (2017); Chromosome Mapping by Karen Stanbary, CG, and Blaine Bettinger, Ph.D, J.D. (2018); Irish Research II by David Rencher, AG, CG, FUGA, FIGRS and Rick Sayre, CG, CGL, FUGA (2020).
