LEER SOBIE

Leer Sobie is a bassist, cellist, arranger, and director of the Saline Big Band, who studied music performance and education at Albion College and Eastern Michigan University. He is a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a men's music fraternity, and Kappa Kappa Psi, an honorary band fraternity... Leer has performed extensively in jazz, classical, and musical theater for nearly 20 years. He has had regular appointments with the Ypsilanti Symphony Orchestra and the Tecumseh Pops Orchestra as a classical bassist. Aside from performing with and directing the Saline Big Band, he has also played with the Depot Town Big Band, the Swing City Big Band, Accidentally Hip, Tip Assist, and several other small jazz combos. Leer is also an accomplshed theater musician with the Encore Musical Theatre Company in Dexter, MI, the Dio Theater in Pinckney, MI, and at Tibbet's Opera House in Coldwater, MI.
