• To organise occasional seminars and develop other means of information exchange as part of continuing professional development... • To help establish working relationships between Government, local authorities, and advocates... The series of North West Cycling Planning Seminars started in 1999. The seminars were intended primarily for local authority officers. They were run by Cycling Projects, and were supported by the Government Office for the North West. As the work of the Government Office was reduced, so was its support.
