And although I wasn't fully conscious of it at the time, I had found a signpost pointing the way to my life's purpose... Later, in the early 1980s, I was living in Barcelona and teaching English in a language school. I found Barcelona really turned on my creative juices and I began to experiment with drawing and painting in my spare time. I had already written and illustrated my first story when I was a young teenager, so when I had an idea for a story I decided to turn it into an illustrated book for children. This led to the publication of four of my books with Editorial Juventud in Barcelona, and two with Penguin (Puffin) books in the UK... At that stage of my life becoming a holistic therapist hadn't even crossed my mind, but now, when I look back, it is clear that I had taken my first baby steps along the path to becoming a Natural Healthcare practitioner.
