As one of Dr. Sam Axelrod's children, for Dr. Elyse Sturm, a career in dentistry was a natural choice. Having grown up in the dental office, Dr. Sturm shares her father's passion for General & Family Dentistry, as well as advanced Cosmetic Dentistry techniques. Her extensive training in emerging technology and advancements in clinical dentistry is an excellent complement to the Your Smile team. And of course, gentleness and compassion is a deeply ingrained part of who she is. Dr. Sturm's caring yet highly professional style is a big hit with patients of all ages. And as a mom with children of her own, she is especially great with kids and families. With Dr. Sturm on board as part of the Your Smile team, the longstanding family tradition of knowledgeable, compassionate dental care is in excellent hands. With almost two decades of experience in Periodontics (gum disease), Dr. Shawn Young is yet another valued member of the Your Smile Dental Care team. Not only is Dr. Young highly qualified and educated with numerous degrees and certificates (including a Master of Science in Dentistry in Periodontology) from several of the most respected institutions in North America, he is also held in very high regard by peers and academics alike. He is a published author in his field, has served as a clinical demonstrator at both the University of Toronto (U of T) and the Boston University School of Dentistry, and is currently an interviewer for admissions to the U of T Faculty of Dentistry. However, for patients it's Dr. Young's personal approach that sets him apart. Relaxed and non-judgmental, Dr. Young is fantastic with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of various conditions associated with gum disease.
