Charles studied at the University of Oxford, where he graduated with the top first-class degree in mechanical engineering as well as a PhD in jet engine research, collaborating with Rolls-Royce. He then spent 10 years working with two top-tier consulting firms specialising in financial services and industrial strategy (Oliver Wyman & PRTM/PWC). A dual UK/US citizen speaking English, German & French, Charles divides his time primarily between Europe and the United States. He is based in Oxford with his family, where he indulges an Ironman triathlon hobby and provides foster care for vulnerable children.
