GEORGE ERB PHYSICAL THERAPY - Key Persons

Cody Hircock

Job Titles:
  • Member of the APTA
Cody grew up in rain-soaked Lacey, Washington where he graduated from Timberline High School in 1999. Tired of the dark clouds, he headed south to attend Biola University where he received his BS in Sports Physiology ('03). While at Biola, he met a beautiful young lady, whom he married as soon as possible, for fear she might realize she was out of his league. While attending undergrad, he began working as a physical therapy aide at an outpatient orthopedic clinic in Tustin; it was there Cody realized he wanted to make a career out of helping people return to full function through physical therapy. He therefore returned to school, earning his Physical Therapist Assistant degree (PTA), from Cerritos College ('07). Cody worked as a PTA in a number of settings, and while continuing to work, he garnered acceptance to CSU Northridge's Physical Therapy school, earning his Masters in Physical Therapy (MPT) in 2011. As part of the program, he spent several months as a clinical intern at George Erb Physical Therapy, Inc., and following his graduation George hired him. Cody is a member of the APTA, and continues to learn and advance as a clinician by participating in continuing education. He has taken courses in Kinesiotaping, and several manual therapy courses through the Maitland-Australia Physiotherapy Seminars. Cody is also a 2-time "Mr. Novembeard" Award winner ('11, '13), given to the staff member voted to have grown the most impressive beard during the month long competition. Though Cody is happy to call Camarillo home, he insists on maintaining his loyalty to his Seattle sports teams (Seahawks, Mariners, UW Huskies). When not in the clinic, you might find Cody umpiring a baseball game, staying involved at Camarillo Christian Church, acting as an assistant coach for his son's many sports teams, or simply enjoying family time with his wife and 2 sons.

Collin McDonell

Collin grew up in Westlake Village, and after graduating from Westlake High School he eared his BS in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from the University of Southern California ('08). He became very interested in the idea of using exercise as medicine, and found his way to Physical Therapy school at California State University Northridge where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2015. During his time at CSUN, he was part of a research team that examined the role of introducing vibration into an injured joint to prevent decreased joint function after immobilization. The research findings would later be presented at the American Physical Therapy Association's Combined Sections Meeting in San Antonio, Texas. He was introduced to the staff and treatment style at George Erb Physical Therapy during an internship as a first year PT student, and after that internship, he knew he would end up working for George after graduation. Collin joined the George Erb family in 2015, and only a few short months later made history by winning the Annual March Madness Championship on his first try, to be forever remembered with a plaque on the wall and his very own championship "Los Erbos" jersey. Collin truly enjoys helping people to improve their function, and as a member of the APTA, he will continue to take advantage of opportunities to further his career through continuing education. When Collin is not at work, he enjoys training for triathlons, snowboarding, and spending time with his beautiful wife and daughter.

Matt Stump

Matt's family moved to Camarillo in 1979 when he was just a young boy. Interestingly, he was born in Iceland while his father served our country in the United States Navy. He grew up attending local schools, and graduated from Adolfo Camarillo High School (ACHS) in 1993. It was during his time at ACHS he first became interested in a career in physical therapy (PT). Midway through his senior year he sustained a significant ankle injury which required PT. Matt realized his calling during that time. His rehabilitation was successful and his plan for a career was rooted in the medical field. Matt continued his education at Abilene Christian University (ACU) where he graduated with honors with a BS in Biology ('97). Upon graduation he began working for George as an aide while completing additional pre-requisite course work in order to be accepted to PT school. His time as an aide served to cement his desire to become a physical therapist, but it also began a lifelong friendship with George Erb. In 2001 Matt received his Masters in Physical Therapy from Hardin-Simmons University (HSU). That same year Matt was awarded the Rex Nutt Award which is given to the top physical therapy student in the state of Texas, and is named after a fellow ACU graduate. Three important events occurred during his time at Hardin-Simmons. The first was that he met his wife while on a rotation at The Methodist Hospital in Houston. The second was meeting another lifelong friend Kyle Kimbrell, who Matt drug out of Texas to become a fellow Camarillian. Third, George offered Matt a job at George Erb Physical Therapy, Inc. Matt's desire to learn his craft did not stop upon graduating from PT school. He continued his educational journey by enrolling in the Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy (ScD) program at Texas Tech Health Science Center. Matt was awarded his ScD in 2010. He followed this accomplishment by completing the IAOM-US Fellowship in Manual Therapy (FAAOMPT) in 2013. Additionally Matt is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. During football season you can find Matt, along with George and Kyle, on the sidelines for ACHS football as they serve with Luga Podesta, M.D. as the medical staff for the Scorpions. More important than any of his professional achievements is the time he spends with his family, having dinners with his parents who still live locally, coaching his three children in various sports, and raising them in the community he has been proud to call home for 34 years.

Megan Henriod

Megan was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she lived until the age of 12. Megan and her family then emigrated to the United States in January 2000 to sunny California with the help of some extended family members. Megan graduated from Simi Valley high school, where she participated in tennis, soccer, cross-country, and track. Not knowing exactly which career interested her, she started taking general classes at Moorpark College and played on the soccer team there for two years. During this time, she started working as a Physical Therapy aid at an outpatient clinic in both West Hills and Simi Valley. She immediately became intrigued by the way that the patient's responded to treatment and the rewarding nature behind the profession. With new inspiration, Megan transferred from Moorpark to California Lutheran University, where she also played on the soccer team and took on the major of exercise science with emphasis on pre-physical therapy. Being an athlete herself, she was always interested in the sports side of Physical Therapy, and spent some time working as an aid at a sports specific clinic in Westlake before going away to PT school. She decided to move her life over to the east coast, where she attended PT school at Arcadia University near Philadelphia, PA. After a couple very cold winters, she graduated with her doctorate in Physical Therapy in January 2015, at which point she moved back here to California to thaw out and be near her family. In her search for her first job, she came across George Erb's facility and felt an instant fit with George and his team.
