Dr. Joseph Fava

Dr. Fava has been serving the Foresthill and Yorkville area over the last decade. He graduated from the University of Toronto 20 years ago. During the past 20 years, he practiced as a general dentist for 10 years, then returned to the University of Toronto to complete his Prosthodontic Specialty Program and Masters Degree. He has special interests in aesthetic and implant rehabilitations. He teaches at the University of Toronto in the graduate dental clinic and is involved in several clinical research studies. He is Co-director of the University based Implant Residency. As a leader in dentistry, he prides himself on being up to speed on all the newest techniques and procedures available.

Dr. Joseph Michaelson

Dr. Michaelson was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, graduated from Sir George Williams University in 1966 with B.Sc. in Biochemistry. He worked as a quality control Chemist at E.R. Squib & Sons for one year, before resuming his studies to become a Dentist. After graduating from the University of Montreal, Faculty of Dentistry in 1971, he moved to Toronto where he completed a one year internship at the Toronto General Hospital. He has been in General practice since then. He has three adult children and two grandchildren. During his spare time, Dr. Michaelson plays Saxophone in two bands, along with singing with his synagogue choir. He looks forward to seeing his patients everyday.

Dr. Steven H. Young

Dr. Young is a prosthodontist, a dentist who specializes in the aesthetic restoration and replacement of teeth. Dr. Young trained in Boston and Buffalo and has over 30 years of experience. He comes from a family of dentists that include his father, brother, uncle and brother-in-law. Dr. Young is married and has two adult daughters. He enjoys cycling, current events, military history and motor racing. He has studied culinary arts and wine appreciation, and prepares dinner for his family every night. The family Briard (French Sheepdog) also insists on his fair share of attention. Dr. Young is a member of many dental organizations and has also been an Associate in Dentistry in the Department of Prosthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto.

Dr. Yoav Finer

Dr. Yoav Finer is a Professor and George Zarb/Nobel Biocare Chair in Prosthodontics and cross-appointment to Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering (IBBME), at the University of Toronto. After completing his DMD and MSc degrees at The Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Dental Medicine in Jerusalem, he completed a PhD in Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering, followed by advanced training in Prosthodontics at University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. Dr. Finer's research foci are the development of restorative materials and dental implants systems with improved performance, by exploring the interactions of these materials with the human body and bacteria. The intent is to develop restorative materials and techniques that will extend the service life of dental restorations and reduce complications associated with dental implants. His research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH); Canadian institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), Ontario Research Fund (ORF) and Industry. This innovative research program was developed while maintaining a part time prosthodontics private practice. Dr. Finer has extensive experience treating complex dental patients, including dental implants, fixed and removable bridges, as well as cosmetic dentistry, and has been extensively presenting on these in international and national conferences.
