(Vienna, 27. 05. 2024) The Institute of Immunology (IFI) and the Institute of Hygiene and Applied Immunology (HAI) together joined the "Lange Nacht der Forschung" (the Long Night of the Research) held on the 24th of May. At our base, the Vienna Competence Center, we presented our research activities ranging from immunology and allergology to bioinformatics... The Institute of Immunology was founded in 1967 as the first research institution in German-speaking countries solely dedicated to immunology research. Today, it offers an excellent international research environment with almost 50 members from more than 15 countries. Our research goals are to elucidate the molecular and cellular mechanisms of immunological reactions and diseases. Researchers at the Institute aim to obtain a better understanding of how the immune system works and to use this knowledge as a basis for the development of new therapeutic approaches and diagnostic tools.
