LAURA

The Uncanny is central to my work, the subtle sensation that things are not as they should be, the fine line between fact and fiction. Taking inspiration from reality, overheard conversations, people's own precious objects or simply from found photographs, these are then allowed to grow as I weave the strands of the imaginary to create a new narrative. Domestic items are frequently utilised for their familiarity; this combination heightens the sense of unease felt by the viewer.
