David Alexander, CEO of Mydex CIC, is co-author of the CRM Pocketbook, a fellow of the RSA, a member and active supporter of Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Open Rights Group. Passionate about protecting individuals' privacy and personal data and its associated rights, David is a Non-Executive Director of tScheme, the independent, industry-led, self-regulatory scheme set up to create strict assessment criteria, against which it will approve Trust Services in the UK. David has an extensive background in software architecture design and engineering coupled with proposition development, innovation and commercial management. His deep knowledge, success and passionate dedication to guiding and shaping the personal data ecosystem make him a valuable addition to the PDEC Governance Committee. Dean Landsman

Dean Landsman is a communications, marketing and media specialist with decades of experience in broadcasting and on the internet. An announcer, radio executive, station owner and broadcasting consultant during the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Dean was among the initial communications professionals to embrace the web. Since then, he has led new digital and online developments, and trained colleagues and clients to apply New Tech, New Media, Digital Strategy and Social Media technologies to their benefit. In the early 1990's, Dean was a leader of the Broadcast Professionals forum on CompuServe, back in the days when CompuServe practically was the web. Not long after, Dean was a pioneer in the weblog phenomena. His blogs Deanland (1999) and Dean on Baseball (2000) were among the first wave of weblogs to appear regularly and to attract loyal followings. Dean is the Executive Director of PDEC (Personal Data Ecosystem Consortium), a Fellow at NYU's SCPS (School for Continuing Professional Studies), the Treasurer (as well as a Steward) of Identity Commons, and works with Project VRM at The Berkman Center at Harvard. He is a Research Fellow at the financial research and investment firm Coburn Ventures. Dean is a board member of TeleTruth, and of the NYC Chapter of Social Media Club, also its Treasurer. Dean is a lifelong baseball fan and ardent follower of the NY Yankees. He is often spotted attending games at Yankee Stadium keeping score by hand, all the while tweeting and messaging about the game. He is married, and has two adult children. They've never known life without a computer or an internet connection. Dean Landsman is Digital Strategist with decades of experience as founder and president of a consulting firm specializing in consumer research, data collection and systems analysis. He's worked with non-profits, public policy, consumer initiative groups and trade organizations in a variety of capacities. Dean is the Executive Director of PDEC.

Jay Unger

Jay Unger is an information technology professional with over 40 years of experience in the development of computers, operating systems, software and applications. Since the 1960s, he has participated in the evolution of systems technology from mainframes and minicomputers, through distributed computing, personal computers and workstations and now into the internet and cloud computing eras. He has "hands on" experience with a wide variety of hardware and software technology, including operating systems, systems design and architecture, programming languages, data base, storage systems and file systems, physical and electronic security and networking technology. Jay studied mathematics and computer science at New York University and later he was the Assistant Director of the NYU Academic Computer Center. After working as an independent consultant for several years in the early 1970's he joined IBM in 1974 in New York to work on the development of IBM operating systems and related software. Over his more than 30 years at IBM he was a leader in research and development in many area including, databases and file systems, electronic publishing, imaging and document management systems, natural language processing and information retrieval, bioinformatics and life-science applications, imbedded systems, distributed systems, network computing, web technologies and high-performance computing. Jay is listed as an inventor on over 20 U.S. and International Patents and was named an IBM Master Inventor in 1999. Prior to retiring from IBM in 2007 he was named an IBM Distinguished Engineer. In his last several years both at IBM, and continuing since, Jay developed a keen interest in the areas of internet identity, information security and personal data. While still at IBM he helped develop a "first in the industry" corporate policy regarding protection and use of employee's health and genetic personal data. After leaving IBM he founded a startup for the secure transmission and storage of important personal documents and has developed several innovative methods for information protection and user authentication. While at IBM and since Jay has been heavily involved with industry standards organizations, trade consortia and working groups including SHARE, the Association for Information and Document Management (AIM), the Desktop Management Task Force (DMTF), the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), the Global Grid Forum (GGF), the Globus Foundation, the Open Grid Forum (OGF), the World-Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and others. Recently he has been active in organizations involved with internet identity and personal data including Identity Commons, and IDESG. He has served on the management council, board of directors, and technical councils of several of these organizations and was a pivotal player in the formation of both OGF and IDESG. Michael and the team at mCordis (1) advise brand marketers on how to embrace mobile and connected marketing, (2) advise AdTech & MarTech vendors on servicing brands through the mCordis Three-Tier Educational Marketing Framework, and (3) prepare individual marketing professionals to be of service to connected individuals at scale. Michael is a strategic advisor to Assurant Solutions, Predii, Phoji, FunMobility, and Privowny. He is on the Board and President of the Personal Data Ecosystem Consortium and a Trustee for Marketing EDGE. He is the co-author of Mobile Marketing for Dummies and number of other books and articles. He is on the faculty of marketing of the Association of National Advertisers, Direct Marketing Association, the Path-to-Purchase Institute, and National University. Michael previously worked with the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) as both a board member and Managing Director, and he was the co-founder of iLoop Mobile, a leading messaging solutions provider.
