Matt Fredericks

Matt is originally from Rock Falls, IL. He is a graduate of Newman Central Catholic High School, Sauk Valley Community College, and Northern Illinois University (B.A. Psychology with minor in history, teaching certificate in secondary education). Matt is certified to coach high school sports and coached 5 th - 12 th grade football for 18 years, as well as 7 th - 12 th grade boys and girls track and field. In 2005, Matt began working with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities at Kreider Services in Dixon, IL. He started as a DSP and then worked as a QIDP (case worker) upon completion of his psychology degree. He taught several individual and staff classes such as Fitness, Hygiene, Understanding DD, Mandt (behavioral crisis prevention training) and served as co-advisor for Aktion Club. Matt assisted the Kreider Services team with behavioral training to partnering agencies. In 2013, Matt began employment at The Arc of the Quad Cities Area as a residential home supervisor and QIDP until being promoted to Director of Property Operations in December 2015. In January 2023 Matt applied for and was promoted to a new role with The Arc as Division Director of Community Programs & Work Services, and is looking forward to a new challenge and opportunity in this position. In his free time, Matt is a competitive powerlifter and founded 2 nd Prime Strength System to coach athletes in strength training, some of whom are record holders. He has been a sponsored athlete, a former record holder and published two articles regarding motivation in sports. Matt also, enjoys reading, writing and spending time with his wife Melissa and their daughter Ellie. They reside in Bettendorf, IA.

In her role at The Arc of the Quad Cities Area she oversees all Human Resource programs and initiatives, as well as Fiscal Operations. The HR team and Fiscal team work diligently together to ensure the stability of The Arc's human and fiscal resources. During her time at The Arc, Meg has served as Committee Chair for the Risk Management Committee and served on the Employee Recognition Committee. In her capacity as Associate Executive Director of People and Resources she serves as lead staff assigned to Business Committee and Audit Committee, sits as staff to Iowa Initiatives, and facilitates the Burress Endowment Trustees meetings. Meg enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping and mountain biking.

Susan Smith

Susan started with the Arc on August 11, 1993 in the nursing department at Heritage 53. She also held other positions at Heritage that include, Program Supervisor, Residential Services Director, Director of Nursing, and Administrator. In her current position as Division Director of Residential, Susan is responsible for the oversight of 17, soon to be 18 CILA group homes in the Quad Cities Area. Susan graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb with a Bachelor's Degree in Science with an emphasis on Community Health, and from Blackhawk College School of Nursing in Moline. In her spare time, Susan enjoys spending time with her family and numerous pets. She also enjoys fishing, gardening, and spending time out on the family farm in New Windsor IL.

Suzy White

Suzy White was hired in April 2009 and has been in a variety of managerial positions with The Arc. Currently Suzy is part of the Senior Management Team in her capacity as Division Director of Quality Supports. In this role she is responsible for the QIDPS, Family Support Director, Resident Account Staff, Maintenance, and continues to oversee nursing. In her new position as Division Directory of Quality supports she serves as lead staff to the Program Evaluation Committee. Before coming to The Arc Suzy worked for 19 years in various positions for DD homes and obtained a Nursing Home Administrator License. Suzy graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA is Psychology and Counseling, and obtained her Masters in Organizational Leadership from St. Ambrose in May of 2017. Suzy enjoys exploring little local towns on weekends, watching sports ("Go Tennessee Volunteers and Iowa Hawkeyes!") and cherishes time with family. She dabbles in cooking, dancing and golf. Suzy and her husband, Bob, share five adult daughters; Alison, Emma, Hannah, Sara and Savannah, and rounding out their family is an old, beloved dog named Hugger. She is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, and spent three years in Swansea, Wales before settling in Bettendorf, Iowa around 1980.
