Alexandria Kamin

Alexandria was born in Penticton, BC and was raised in Calgary, Alberta. She graduated with honors from John G Diefenbaker and joined the Chestermere team as a Client Care Specialist in 2021, her first job! She plans to become a Veterinarian Technician. Since Alexandria was little, she always had a passion for all kinds of animals and had the pleasure of becoming a pet parent many times. She feels it is an honor to own pets, and enjoys watching their personality bloom and experience life through her animals eyes. Alexandria enjoys assisting and supporting clients and their pets needs whenever possible. She treasures building and nurturing relationships, and creating a warm and comfortable environment for owners and their fur family. She is Fear Free Level 3 Certified. Her mother and her faith have always been her rock and biggest motivation in life. Her family includes her mother, father, and grandparents. In her spare time Alexandria enjoys going for walks, reading, and photographing wildlife.

Angela Meyer

Born and raised in Calgary, Angela always loved animals and had numerous pets growing up. She always knew she wanted to work with animals and graduated in 2006 from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Upon graduating, Angela worked at the University of Calgary's Animal Resource Center as an Animal Care Technician. She joined the Chestermere Veterinary Clinic in March 2008 because she wanted to help keep pets healthy and live long happy lives with their families. Angela currently works part time for the clinic so she can look after her young children. She is passionate about pet nutrition because it is one of the only things we can do every day to influence the health of our pets. She has attended numerous conferences and training programs in pet nutrition and she enjoys working with clients to find the best food to meet their pet's needs at each stage in their life. Angela also enjoys educating clients about their pets in other ways, and helps look after the clinics website and Facebook page, where she can communicate with them by posting information and writing a blog on various pet related articles. She is Fear Free Level 2 Certified.

Anita Chartier

Anita grew up in Battleford Saskatchewan and moved to Regina at 12 years old. She always had a passion for animals and always had cats at home and helped stray animals or friends and family pets whenever she could. Anita worked in customer service for many years before taking some time off with her kids and going back to school. She went to school at Saskpolytech in Regina and earned a Business Certificate. She realized that her passion was people and working with the public. She decided to switch gears from working behind a desk and started working for Goodlife Fitness. She discovered a passion for fitness and helping others work towards their goals. At the beginning of 2021 Anita moved to Chestermere. Anita was initially a client at the clinic and saw first hand the care and compassion the doctors and team put forth to help and how they went above and beyond to care for her dog. She knew that was the kind of environment, level of service and type of people she would love to work with and she joined the team in the spring. As a Client Care Specialist Anita enjoys working with the clients and patients. She loves getting to know everyone on a personal level and being able to help them with their loved family members. She enjoys learning new things every day and being able to be part of such an amazing team. She is Fear Free Level 1 certified. Anita has 2 children, a Boston Terrier named Jake and a cat named Shadow. She enjoys live music and concerts, reading and listening to podcasts, camping, and hanging out at the beach with her kids. Her family loves the mountains and likes exploring new places and having new adventures. She also enjoys traveling, and learning about the history and culture of different places.

Ceanna Savage

Ceanna was born and raised in Calgary. She is currently in the biological sciences program at the University of Calgary with a concentration on biodiversity and conservation. She hopes to apply to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine soon. Ceanna began her work with animals in 2021 at a dog daycare and spa. Since then she has been volunteering as a dog caregiver at AARCS Safe Haven. Ceanna joined the Chestermere team as a Client Care Specialist in 2023. She feels it is an honour to get to spend time with pets and see their personality shine as you gain their trust. A career in vet medicine is her way of bringing comfort to pets and their owners, while also pursuing her interests in biology and medicine. Working at the clinic has solidified her desire to pursue a career in vet medicine. She loves being surrounded by a compassionate team who share her love of animals. Ceanna also loves seeing the care owners have for their fur-babies and enjoys learning and experiencing new things every day. Ceanna grew up with a family dog named Caramel. She recently adopted her pup a great pyrenees mix Persphone and loves watching her learn and grow every day. She has a big family, but is closest with her sister who she has always looked up to. They share a passion for animals and volunteer at AARCS together. Ceanna grew up taking Karate classes and playing Field Hockey. Her current hobbies include baking, reading, and taking shelter dogs on hikes with her sister. She is Fear Free Level 2 certified.

Dr. Bikram Grewal

Dr. Bikram Grewal, was raised in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. He completed his Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry degree in 2015 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2017. Dr. Grewal began his professional career in Manitoba in 2018, where he focused on small animal medicine and surgery. Outside of work, he shares his home with his wife, daughter, and a rescue cat named Harvey Dent. In his leisure time, Dr. Grewal enjoys watching hockey.

Dr. Gabby Rotaru

Dr. Gabby Rotaru believes she has the best job in the world: if you think about it, what other job fills your heart with so much joy that it really brings tears to your eyes, makes you laugh and wonder, discover and create, is never boring and so uplifting? And in what other job can you feel that you truly make lives better (pets and owners alike) and learn every day from each and every pet you meet? There is this invisible bond that forms between you and all animal lovers that come through the door: owners and pets are a second family to her, they get to know each other, trust and respect each other and for this she is so grateful! Dr. Gabby moved to Canada in 2001 with 2 cats & 2 dogs. She feels it was one of the best decisions she ever made! She graduated in 1997 in Romania, Europe and has worked in the small animal field ever since. Dr. Gabby truly enjoys the combination of internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, radiology and laboratory, which make her job so interesting. She also enjoys educating people how to prevent disease in their pets, this is where the true challenge is! Working emergencies for about 5 years before starting to work at Chestermere made her realize that some things can be prevented and it is up to us to help our pets stay out of trouble and stay healthy! She is Fear Free Level 2 certified and an Animal Aromatherapy Specialist. In her spare time she loves going biking and hiking, spending time with friends or cuddling on the sofa with her cat Ziggy. Dr. Gabby can be found spending her spare time reading, volunteering and providing education for different groups. She enjoys helping others discover tools to improve their life.

Dr. Jeff Lees

Dr. Jeff was born in Manitoba, but moved to Calgary at a young age, and has lived in Alberta ever since, now residing in Chestermere. He tried a few career paths before finding his passion. He first went to school for kinesiology and was a personal trainer in corporate Calgary. He then tried emergency medicine as an EMT. He has now settled into a career in Veterinary Medicine. He started working as a mixed animal veterinarian in Alberta working with all animals. He has since changed streams to focus his practice on small animals, but still holds a strong interest in farm animal medicine. He is most interested in surgery and dentistry. He is Fear Free Level 2 certified. Dr. Jeff joined the Chestermere team in 2021 for the balance between work and family life. He is looking forward to working in the same community he calls home. Dr. Jeff's family of 4 includes his wife, son, and cat named Peanut Butter - a retired teaching cat from the University. As a new home owner, Dr. Jeff has been enjoying (or sometimes not!) lots of DIY repairs and renos. He also enjoys water sports and tries to get out on the lake as much as possible.

Katelyn Hunka

Job Titles:

Katelyn is originally from Port Coquitlam British Columbia. She has always had a connection with animals and the loss of a few of them only made that love stronger. Since the age of 6, she knew she wanted to be in the animal health field. She completed the Veterinary Office and Animal Care Certificate from Douglas College and first worked at a veterinary clinic in BC. Katelyn joined the Chestermere team in the summer of 2018 as a Client Care Specialist. She greatly enjoys assisting clients, and also has a special interest in the pharmacy. Katelyn is the inventory specialist at the clinic. She is also Fear Free Level 2 certified. Katelyn is an identical twin and is the first to move away from family to live in Alberta. Growing up, Katelyn and her sister were cadets, which taught valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership and citizenship. Katelyn loves to crochet and is a big book worm. She share 2 kitties named Atlas and Kronos with her husband.

Kris Harrigan

  • Canine Massage Therapist
Kris completed her canine massage course in 2003 at Tree Tops in Alston, Ontario. Her involvement with animals did not start there, in fact she has too many years to track. She has experience in most aspects of the canine world, from training dogs for film work to sports like agility and flyball, and even as a longtime performer with the Real Canadian Superdogs. Kris also worked as an emergency veterinary technician in the US before coming to Canada. She is a big advocate of animal rescue. She has either placed or rehabbed animals for over 30 years. Kris moved to Calgary in 2006, after retiring from a very long career with the Real Canadian Superdogs. She discovered her love of the city, the mountains, and the really cold weather during her time with the show as it would stop here every year. Kris joined the Chestermere team as a Canine Massage Therapist in 2021 and is eager to share her passion for animal wellness and the benefits of massge.

Neve Raycroft

Neve grew up on an acreage just outside of Chestermere. She is currently taking courses at the University of Calgary and plans on applying to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine after completing the prerequisite courses. Neve has always loved being around animals and has an interest in medicine. Working in the industry has given her confidence in her academic path and she is continuously expanding her knowledge base and experience. Neve joined the Chestermere team as a Client Care Specialist in 2021, and enjoys constantly learning and experiencing new things. She is a middle child with two brothers and has 2 dogs and 2 cats named Diesel, Rocky, Domino and Bart. Neve enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and paddle boarding, as well as spending time with her family and friends.

Samantha Zabori

Samantha is originally from BC but moved to the town of Strathmore at the age of 2. She has grown up with animals all her life. She started pet sitting at a young age and has always loved the idea of working with them as a career. Samantha attended Bow Valley College for the Veterinary Office Assistant program and then started a job at a boarding facility to gain more experience with animals. She completed the Animal Health Technology program at Olds College and graduated from the program in June 2024. Samantha completed her practicum at Chestermere Veterinary Clinic and after graduating from her program stayed on as an RVT. Samantha enjoys doing dental procedures as well as tech appointments like Librela injections, nail trims and bloodwork. She is Level 1 Fear Free Certified. Samantha's family includes her mom, dad, brother, sister, and grandparents. She owns many dogs and cats. Samantha enjoys going hiking, riding quads, swimming, and loves to travel.

Shauna Angel

Shauna was born in Calgary and moved to Red Deer in her early school years, where most of her immediate family resides now. She has a Visual Arts Diploma and has a huge passion for Art, particularly painting and sculptures. In 2008 Shauna travelled through Europe to see all the old cathedrals and churches and she loves to travel. She recently spent 8 years living on an acreage in Brisbane Australia with her husband and had her son and daughter while living there. They loved spending every day outside in their huge garden where they grew their own fruits and vegetables. They had a beautiful Staffordshire Terrier named Zoey and a black cat named Lexy that they rescued. They would spend time bird watching in the pool. Cockatoos, Lorikeet's and Kookaburras were their favorites. Shauna and her family recently chose Chestermere as the place to raise their children after deciding to move back to Canada. She was eager to get back into the workforce and her love and passion for animals, brought her to the Chestermere Vet Clinic. From the moment she stepped in she knew it was an amazing place! Shauna enjoys her role as a Client Care Specialist and loves seeing all the clients walk through the door. She gets cuddles from patients whenever she can! Shauna loves helping the clients with their needs and making sure that their fur babies are in the best of care. She is Fear Free Level 1 certified. Shauna's family includes her young son and daughter and wonderful husband. They have two cats Tommy and Gus Gus. Tommy was a rescue from the Humane Society and Gus Gus needed to be rehomed so they gladly adopted him! She likes to keep active by going to F45 workout classes, camping and spending time outdoors with her family in the warmer months.

Susan Herbert

Susan was raised on a farm north of Cochrane. She had a Scottish Terrier growing up, and purchased her first show dog as a teen, to start conformation and obedience showing. Her experiences with a variety of terrier breeds, their personalities and problems, led her to dog training - specifically clicker training with the Karen Pryor Academy of dog training. With her love of animals, it seemed clear that she needed to pursue a career in a related field. This led to a diploma in Animal Health Technology through Olds College. After graduating Susan enjoyed working in a variety of fields including 15 years in veterinary emergency medicine, and 10 years as a Manager of a Veterinary Reference laboratory. Susan joined the Chestermere team in January 2018 and has been enjoying the change of pace into primary care. She is fear free level 3 elite certified. Susan also received the AAHA Veterinary Technician of the Year award in 2023. This award recognizes the outstanding achievements of credentialed veterinary technicians and their key role in patient care. Learn more at aaha.org/vtoy. Susan's interests include behavior, internal medicine and nutrition. Susan's goal is to help you, help your pet! Her other passions include gardening, landscape and naturescape design. She still owns and loves terriers, and currently has a Kerry Blue Terrier named Ned!
