C.M. THIBODAUX

Charles Melance (C.M.) Thibodaux was born in 1844 in Coteau Folse in Lafourche Parish and was married in 1865. Charles and his brother Felix sold most of their property and moved to Bayou Boeuf in 1881. They began acquiring property along the east bank of Bayou Boeuf. In time, Charles and Felix divided their property. Charles and his wife had thirteen children, two of whom had died prior to the company being formed in 1912. Charles died in 1911 and his surviving eleven children formed the company the following year. This was done to avoid dividing Charles' property into eleven parts or selling the land.
