DELTA PPSA

We are the only community partner of the national Pet Partners® organization, formerly known as Delta Society. This human-services organization was founded in 1977 and is dedicated to improving people's health and well-being through positive interactions with animals. The heart of the Pet Partners® program is a research foundation which demonstrates that when animals are around, people's blood pressure goes down, their stress and anxiety levels are reduced, they feel less lonely and depressed, and they tend to be more social and community oriented. Out of this research, the Pet Partner program was developed. Delta Pet Partners of San Antonio follows all Pet Partner policies and procedures... This all-volunteer, nonprofit organization participates in animal-assisted therapy programs and educational presentations that promote the benefits of the human/animal connection. Our reading program, PAWSitive Reading, is a literacy program that matches Pet Partner teams with elementary students..
