Dr. Sharon Alger Little

Job Titles:
  • Veterinarian
Dr. Sharon Alger purchased A. Little Veterinary Clinic in 1997 after four years of practicing at Governor's Animal Hospital in Dover, Delaware and one year of service in Wisconsin. Becoming a practice owner was a new adventure for Dr. Sharon Alger Little and would be the beginning of something wonderful. Growing up in New Hampshire and spending years on a farm with her parents and siblings, she developed a strong love for animals. Dr. Little received her undergraduate degree at Delaware State University where she grew to love lower Delaware. She would then move to Kansas and attend Kansas State University's Veterinary School of Medicine where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. A general practitioner, Dr. Little spends her time diagnosing and treating sick patients and seeing pets for their annual exams to ensure their continued health. Her professional interests include skin diseases, ear disease, diabetes, heart disease and behavioral issues. When Dr. Little is not checking in on patients or seeing appointments, you can find her with her family at their farm. She enjoys spending time with her two daughters riding horses and doing barn chores, knitting and reading. A. Little Veterinary Clinic was founded by Dr. Sharon Alger on April 1, 1997. With the help of a dedicated assistant Julie Warrington, future husband, Larry Little and an Office Manager, Terri Denny, the practice was already growing and in motion from day one. In September of 1997, Dr. Sheryl Trivits, a well respected veterinarian joined the practice to assist in surgical procedures and patient treatment. Over the next few years a growing practice required physical expansions which would give the hospital almost five times the usable space. Along with renovations and more usable space the staff has continued to grow into a hardworking and dedicated group of individuals. A. Little Veterinary Clinic quickly became a well-known hospital in such a small rural area.

Dr. Sheryl M. Trivits

Job Titles:
  • Veterinarian
Associate veterinarian at A. Little Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Sheryl Trivits completed her undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech and was awarded a B.S. Degree in Pre-Veterinary Science. Following her undergraduate studies, Dr. Trivits would go on to Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She came on board with our hospital in 1997, bringing her ten years of experience to our practice. A general practitioner, Dr. Trivits has professional interests in surgery and new innovative procedures. Her interest in becoming a veterinarian began as a young adult while spending summers on her relative's farms. She finds that the best thing about animals is the companionship they give to us. It is so unique and unconditional that as pet owners, we must pay special attention to recognize when they are not feeling well because many times they mask their symptoms in an effort to make us happy. Dr. Trivits enjoys gardening, biking, camping and kayaking. She is joined at home by her husband, cats and Labrador, Ziva.
