Gregory has been a Portland trail lawyer, since 1989: for two years after leaving Willamette, Gudger headed the Metropolitan Human Relations Commission, the civil rights agency for the City of Portland and Multnomah County, before settling into his law practice. Mr. Gudger served on numerous boards and committees in service to his community including NAACP Board, ACLU Board, Black United Fund Board, and served two-terms as president of the National Bar Association, Oregon Chapter... Gregory L. Gudger was born in the ghetto of Washington, DC behind an abandoned store-front insurance company to an unwed mother with two older children, living with an older woman who scrubbed floors for white families on her hands and knees. Both of these women were his greatest teachers and inspiration as he became the first person in his family to go to college.
