Mindfulness is one approach to dealing with stress. This approach is used to help one to develop calmness, objectivity and peace no matter what enters into one's life. It is an approach where people learn how to be with their strong, intense emotions, persistent worries that come up in the mind and all of the situations that press our buttons. People learn to cultivate a sense of calmness and peace, slowly increasing their practice of mindfulness to be able to stay present or be more mindful even when circumstance are generating a lot of stress. This requires a lot of practice. On a daily basis, exercising our mindfulness so that when stress comes into our lives we are able to see it for what it is and stay grounded in our own sense of calmness, peacefulness that we have developed over time.
