Dr. Julie DiBari, MBA, PhD is CEO and founder of The Capacity Group. She has extensive experience creating measurable, sustainable impact for organizations and collaborations. Her primary expertise is in team decision making and evaluation. She received her undergraduate degree in communications from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, her MBA from Babson College, and her PhD from the University of Rhode Island with a dissertation focus on team process and multiple stakeholder engagement in decision making, with a social justice lens. Dr. DiBari grew up in the foster care system and brings her lived experience into her work including experience with child welfare systems, poverty and public assistance, the impact of schools on those living with trauma, and the impact of incarceration on families. For the past eight years, Dr. DiBari has taught in the MBA program at Providence College and has twice been a visiting lecturer at Brown University's Social Enterprise Fellows Program. Dr. DiBari has been involved in the social impact sector for over twenty years. She was recognized in the Boston Business Journal for the tools she created to advance corporate philanthropy, she won Adoption Rhode Island's Beacon of Hope award, and the Real Connections program she developed received Ashoka Changemakers recognition and a Bright Ideas award from Harvard University's Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation. She has served on various board and in various advisory capacities.
