Atlantis Mining is currently a LEVEL 4 Contributor to B-BBEE and at present, a significant portion of the business is owned by a B-BBEE Partner... The company's earlier operations in the late 1990's consisted of Opencast Mining of Lemoenfontein Colliery for Ferguson Tolmay Coal. During the year 2000, Atlantis Mining was awarded and commenced the Mining of Kopermyn Colliery for Sumo Coal, a Turkish company. Atlantis Mining produced coal at 85 000 tons per month.
