DENTISTRY IN THE HIGHLANDS - Key Persons

Dr. Cusato was born and raised in the Highland Creek area of Scarborough Ontario. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1990 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Immediately upon graduating Dr. Cusato joined Dr. William Kerr and they have practiced together since then in Scarborough. In October 2011, Dr. Cusato and Dr. Kerr decided to purchase and renovate the building at 158 Bobcaygeon Road and open Dentistry in the Highlands. No stranger to Minden, Dr. Cusato has been vacationing in Minden since the early 1980's and his parents and sister call Minden home. Dr. Cusato is experienced in general family dentistry and provides care ranging from white fillings to crowns, bridges, orthodontics, implants, endodontics and cosmetic treatments. Dr.Cusato believes in volunteerism and spends time at the Urban Dental Outreach clinic where dentists provide care to those in need. He also travels with a team of volunteers to Honduras and provides dental care to underprivileged children. He especially enjoys family life with his wife Leslie and their two children Lauren and Justin. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Cusato is active in his church and enjoys gardening, golfing, watersports and downhill skiing.

Dr. William Kerr received a Bachelor of Science in Biology Degree from the University of Toronto in 1983 and Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1987. Upon completion of his dental degree, Dr. Kerr joined his father, Dr. John Kerr and continued to practice with his father until 1993 when Dr. John Kerr retired. In 1990, the two were joined by Dr. Michael Cusato (Dr. Kerr's brother-in-law). Drs. William Kerr and Michael Cusato continue to work as partners and have done so since 1997. The practice of Dentistry in the Highlands allows Dr. Kerr to unite two of his favorite things - dentistry and his love of the Minden area. Dr. Kerr enjoys all aspects of dentistry and the relationships he has built with the many families he has had the privilege of treating over the years. Dr. Kerr is a strong believer in volunteerism and travels to El Porvenir Honduras annually to provide dental care to school children. He is the founder and President of Volunteer Dental Outreach for Haliburton County www.dental-outreach.com - a charity which provides free dental care to low income residents of Haliburton County. Dr. Kerr volunteers at the VDO at least twice a month. Dr. Kerr and his wife Lisa have four wonderful grown children who went through Archie Stouffer E.S. and Haliburton Highlands Secondary School. The Kerr's moved to Minden in 1998. With three sons in hockey Dr. Kerr was a regular around the hockey arena when his boys were young and attended all of Loretta's many dance recitals. Steve Kerr has recently opened a practice in Minden as a Denturist. Ryan Kerr is now a partner in GLG LLP a downtown Toronto law firm practicing litigation law. J.J. graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in 2018 and is now an associate dentist at Dentistry in the Highlands. Loretta also graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. Loretta joined the practice in June 2020 and began seeing patients in the Minden practice immediately.
