Alexander Muge Okoth joined the EllGeo Re team on October 1st, 2023, as Reinsurance Broker. He holds a BSc in Actuarial Science and is currently pursuing a Diploma in Insurance (Dip IIK) and at the same time is on course towards a Diploma in Insurance (Dip CII, UK). This fits perfectly with our commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
In his role, Alexander handles a reinsurance portfolio for our clients, negotiates deals, and fosters strong client and reinsurer relationships. Known for his solution-oriented approach, he thrives on analysing risks and providing tailor-made solutions to meet our clients' needs.
Outside work, Alexander enjoys football, swimming, and volunteering. His culinary preferences span Kenyan staples like Ugali and Fish, as well as Mauritian delights like boiled noodles with chicken and dumplings.
It's clear to us that he is enjoying his experience of adapting to his new environment since he joined us.

Anousha joined EllGeo Re in 2009. Holder of a BSc (HONS) in Finance with Law and a Cert. CII (UK), she is our Claims Executive & Deputy MLRO. She finds her job meaningful and rewarding as for her, the reinsurance industry is all about protecting the society and providing hope in times of tragedy
Avid foodie by nature, she never met a lasagna she didn't like and she's always up for a glass of red wine Anousha loves the freedom that cycling offers, and never misses an opportunity to go for a ride with friends or family ♀️ Happiness, for her, is coming home and knowing her dogs Luca, Gypsee and Hela are here to greet her

Ashwin joined EllGeo Re in 2021 as an Assistant Reinsurance Broker and holds a BSc(Hons) in Banking and Finance. Being part of the broking team, he assists the brokers in achieving targets, while grasping as much valuable knowledge as possible within a pleasant working environment
Firm believer that the dynamic nature of the insurance sector is aligned with his personal and professional ambitions, he is looking forward to achieving his CII qualifications to keep progressing professionally
Being a music lover ever since he remembers, Ashwin learnt to play a few musical instruments during his journey. Self-taught guitarist, he never misses an occasion to make his guitar come to life One of his greatest hobbies is certainly cooking: he's always trying to recreate healthier versions of fast-foods Among football, going out in nature for a hike/trekking, and gaming casually, Ashwin is rarely bored during his free time. Most of all, he loves to spend time with his Rottweiler and his 2 griffons
His guilty pleasure? The famous Mauritian "Mine bouillie Poulet Miroir"… He even travels across the island to find the hidden gems to satisfy the foodie in him
Following her lifetime goal of becoming a chartered accountant, Daksha joined EllGeo Re in 2021. She is our Finance Officer and is on course towards ACCA Level 2. Being her first time job here, she could not be any more grateful to be acquainted with such a good work environment. Processing invoices and ensuring accuracy in accounting matters hold no more secrets for her now!
Her favourite thing to do to relax? Taking care of herself She makes it a priority to have a self-care routine once a week, as she firmly believes that feeling good in your skin helps in boosting productivity. Nothing better than listening to Taylor Swift's songs while waiting for her pink clay mask to dry on a Sunday morning! Avid food lover by nature, she has many favourite dishes but nothing compares to the home-made vegetarian biryani prepared by her mother She shared with us that if she could have any superpower, it would be the ability to eat as much as she can without gaining weight.
Passionate about Women Empowerment, Hemlata is herself a fine example of how, given the right environment and pushed by her determination and hard work, one can achieve her goals
Hemlata joined EllGeo Re in 2004, is a Chartered Insurance Broker and is ACII (UK) qualified. She heads our Broking team, overseeing the daily operations and ensuring that service is delivered to the highest standards of quality, responsiveness and professionalism
She loves to connect with the different people in her field, and considers networking as a major enabler in social fulfilment. When she's not cooking or reading books, Hemlata loves a good karaoke session to relieve stress Her guilty pleasure…? Binge-watching Korean and Japanese movies overnight during weekends
For her, progress takes place outside of the comfort zone and through hard work, she is able to challenge her capabilities to grow further ⬇️

At EllGeo Re since 2018, Jean-Alain brings knowledge and experience amassed in the insurance and reinsurance industry since 1994. A career that he considers rewarding and enjoyable, and which has taken him from Mauritius through to the African continent, and further up to Europe.
He is a Chartered Insurance Broker, FCII (UK), and an MBA holder, and considers that he keeps learning by the day. He is eager to drive EllGeo Re to the next level by extending its reach to larger parts of Africa, where opportunity abounds. For Jean-Alain, job satisfaction comes from being able to create value for all stakeholders: clients, partners, society, and very importantly, the people whom he works with, if he is helping them to fulfil their personal growth aspirations.
People may think he is always very serious, but he is actually a fun-loving and compassionate person, always up for a good cheer wherever he is. Above everything else, Jean-Alain is a family man who loves to spend time with his close ones. Passionate about art, he loves to see creativity at play, be it in design, ideas, and leisure.
Besides, Jean-Alain feels the world would be a better place to live in if we could together work towards the advancement of the following causes: the alleviation of poverty, the protection of the environment, and the empowerment of women in society.
Meet Francesca Sookahet, a dedicated member of the EllGeo family since 2023. With a Master's degree in journalism from the prestigious École supérieure de Journalisme de Paris, Francesca brings her unique blend of media expertise and administrative skills to our office. As our Administrative Assistant, Francesca is the cornerstone of our day-to-day operations. Her background in the media industry shines through in all her communication and editorial work.
When she's not orchestrating seamless operations, Francesca finds solace in her hobbies. Music, movies, and board games take center stage, as she enjoys quality time with her husband and two daughters. The Sookahet family isn't complete without their faithful companion, Oreo, the dog who adds joy to their lives.
Guided by the wisdom of her late father, Francesca lives by the quote: "Don't do to others what you wouldn't want them to do to you". This philosophy is woven into her mission of dedicating her time to couples and families, embodying the spirit of service.

Odile is energetic, charismatic and always graces you with her bright smile and her drive. At EllGeo Re since 2014, she is our Administration Executive On course towards Level 4 Extended Diploma in Business and Administrative Management, she loves the multi-tasking nature of her job - supporting the whole team with almost all facets of Office Admin. Her to-do-list is always very dynamic; she can never remain idle for too long… ⏱️
Odile has a vivid imagination and an adventurous side; she's always ready to play jokes on her close ones… In her spare time, she loves playing guitar, and enjoys anything related to good music She also likes reading a good book or watching movies with her family

Parvesh joined EllGeo Re in 2021 as an Assistant Reinsurance Broker. He holds a BSc (HONS) in Economics and Finance from the University of Mauritius and is on course towards the Cert. CII (UK) He believes that the insurance and reinsurance sector is a key element in the growth of businesses and their risk management With Financial Lines as his specialty, contributing to such growth gives him immense satisfaction and motivation to grow further!
When he's not at the office, Parvesh puts on his toque and starts his favourite activity: cooking! He even owns his small food business as a side-hustle He loves a good chicken briyani and will never miss an occasion for some good chocolate Parvesh is also quite a sporty person, always in for a football match with friends, always ready for a swim and even for some running sessions His latest hobby? The crypto market. He dived deep into this and is eager to learn more in the future.

Prakash reckons over 30 years' experience in the reinsurance industry. He joined EllGeo Re at its very beginnings in 2003, and is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA - UK)
Being a qualified accountant, our CFO & Compliance Officer is responsible for managing the company's finances, including financial planning, financial reporting, budget management, and record keeping Enjoying the enabling environment at the office, Prakash thrives on the freedom he has and takes great satisfaction in ensuring the company's compliance standards
He devotes his leisure time to gardening, which is a source of great delight to him Being a very health-conscious person, his drink of choice is green tea…no sugar, please! ☕
He believes the only way to change our lives is by changing our minds. Whatever we want in life, we should start today, not tomorrow.
At EllGeo Re since 2016, Ravin plays an important role in our daily lives at the office
He is our Office Attendant, supporting everyone as messenger and with office maintenance tasks. Ravin considers himself lucky to work in a great team, and he is always here to help and cheer us up
He loves playing football with friends and watching a good match with a fresh beer ⚽ One of his greatest stress relievers is gardening and being in touch with nature He also loves playing with his 4 dogs outdoors. Like many Mauritians, he likes Chinese food and is always happy with a dish of Fried Noodles

Holding a BCom in Accounting and Finance, Shanon joined EllGeo Re in 2022 as Broker Support She assists our brokers with daily tasks such as maintaining business records, producing contractual documents and sending renewal notices and chasers. She believes reinsurance is a vey interesting industry because it offers an endless amount of knowledge to anyone eager to learn Her job enables her to satisfy the desire for meaningful work and community involvement!
When she's not at the office, Shanon loves creating memories with her loved ones. May it be road trips on the coast or visiting ruins and ancient places. She is also quite a sporty person, always in for a volleyball match with friends or a golf session ⛳ Absolute animal lover, she has 6 dogs and a 30-year-old cockatoo
Shivna is a very committed person who believes in continuous learning and professional growth. For her, life is a continuous journey of self-discovery.

Thierry Labat is part of the senior executive team of IBL Group, the largest conglomerate in Mauritius and among the leading groups in the Indian Ocean. He is the Group Head of Corporate Services, and oversees the following Group functions: Corporate Secretarial, Legal Affairs, Human Capital, Communications, Risk Management & Compliance, Internal Audit and Trademarks & Consulates. Thierry is a Chartered Secretary (South Africa) and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA - UK). He reckons solid corporate secretarial and M&A experience, having successfully driven these functions at GML and IBL successively since 2001.
Even if he would have never thought of landing in the Reinsurance industry, Urvin is enjoying the journey
Holding a BA (HONS) in Law and Management and a DIP CII (UK), he is a Reinsurance Broker at EllGeo Re, on course towards ACII (UK). Since 2016, he continues to be amazed by how the insurance and reinsurance world touch lives and businesses. Particularly fascinated by Marine Insurance, he is looking forward to specialise in this field ⚓
One cause that is dear to his heart is Animal Protection. He has rescued and adopted one dog from the streets during a cyclone, who is now happier than ever On week-ends, he likes to watch a good football match while eating dark chocolate . His favourite dish? McDonald's Grand Spicy Chicken, without an ounce of hesitation!
