In 1998 PricewaterhouseCoopers Veltins was founded in co-operation with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the world's largest auditing and tax firm. Whilst operating under the name of PwC Veltins, HEUSSEN expanded quickly by combining with various different practices or individual partners of renowned legal partnerships, that have decades of experience and tradition... As a result of the tightening of independence laws for accounting firms (the SEC regulations, Sarbanes Oxley Act, Revised Balance Sheet Regulations) HEUSSEN decided to become independent of PwC. In the course of becoming independent, the firm was re-named HEUSSEN Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in 2003. Prof. Dr. Heussen is one of the "leading lawyers" worldwide.
