I started my professional life literally falling off horses for a living and I have spent the many years since then trying to get back on.
My creative career has included a long stint as a pre-press designer in a large print company, where I designed and helped to produce anything from letterheads and business cards to magazines and books. After spells of freelancing and teaching, I retrained as a 3D modeler and animator and spent the next ten years working for a couple of very good 3D studios based here in Cornwall.
I joined the Fashion & Textiles Institute in August 2017 as a senior technician and have loved every minute of my time here.

I teach Game Art & Animation on the IFY Course here at Falmouth. Prior to this I have been involved in teaching games development to young people in Cornwall for over 6 years and really enjoy watching amazing talent develop from such a small county.
I have been 3D modelling for over 15 years, creating architectural models and game assets. I have supported a handful of projects with 3D assets, animations, lighting and rigging. I have a real passion for intricate detail and capturing a sense of time in my work, taking big inspiration from scale model dioramas.
I'm currently working with a small Indie team based in Copenhagen, Denmark, on a FPS game based around alternative WW2 history. I am mostly working on the environment assets, but I have been responsible for some animations and texturing.

Adrian has set up or run 22 businesses in the UK and 2 in the USA, as well as mentoring over 100 student start-up businesses including Ider and Cheap Date Dance Company. Adrian has worked in academia for over 20 years, leading a range of successful bids, including for the RELAYS Cultural Olympiad Project, and acted as Chair of the South West Music Industry Forum. In 2007, Adrian co-authored the successful bid to merge Dartington College of Arts and University College Falmouth.
At Falmouth, Adrian was Executive Producer at AMATA for 6 years; working with artists including Cara Dillon, Pussy Riot and Elton John. Adrian wrote and led delivery of courses including MA Creative Events Management and currently oversees a wide range of courses including BA(Hons) Sustainable Festival Management and BA(Hons) Sustainable Tourism Management in partnership with the Eden Project. Adrian is currently responsible for all academic delivery across Cornwall Business School, including BSc(Hons) Business & Digital Marketing and MSc Entrepreneurship & Innovation Management. He conceived short on-line courses for the live music industry in partnership with A Greener Festival and Attitude is Everything. Adrian has won two annual Staff Excellence Awards for Outstanding Innovation in Teaching and led a team which was shortlisted for the International Learning Technologies award Best Online Distance Learning Programme 2017. Adrian is Sustainability Champion for Falmouth University, a Trustee for Attitude is Everything and the Chair of both the Association of Events Management Educators and The Point Quay Association.
Adrian's research interests include potential digital futures for accessible live performances at music festivals. In 2023 Adrian delivered the LAAA project which installed a Beat Blocks haptic dance floor at Falmouth University over a period of 4 days in May 2023. In follow-on project supported by AEME and HEIF, Adrian is working with Deaf Rave and Beat Blocks to evaluate user perceptions of the authenticity of their live experience when experiencing haptic technology at selected music festivals. These projects focus on the introduction of haptic technology with the intent to facilitate accessibility and inclusive participation of people who are Deaf, disabled or neurodivergent at music festivals. Adrian is a reviewer for the International Journal of Event and Festival Management and Routledge.

Agnieszka Blonska is a theatre director and performer based in the UK since 2003. For the last 20 years she has worked in Britain and internationally as an independent artist and in collaboration with theatre companies and theatres such as Wildworks, Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw, Theatre Institute in Warsaw, National Theatre Studio in London, Soho Theatre, Tate St Ives, Theatre Bristol, Hall For Cornwall, Desperate Men, DotComedy, Mercurial Wrestler, Seamas Carey, imPOSSIBLE Producing, Projekt Europa and Circomedia in Bristol.
Agnieszka has a particular interest in subjects of identity, social change and personal story in relation to a society. In her work she involves a variety of forms including participatory and performative theatre exploring the boundaries of traditional understanding of drama and play. Agnieszka applies devising methods and improvisation, often examining deconstruction and non-linear approach to a performance.
Agnieszka works as a senior lecturer in Acting and Theatre & Performance at Falmouth University. She holds an MA in Social Sciences with specialisation in Anthropology of Culture (Warsaw University) and Post Graduate Diploma in Drama Directing (Bristol Old Vic Theatre School). Agnieszka is a co-founder of Kerpow (Kernow Power of Women) and an artistic advisor for Projekt Europa. In 2008 Agnieszka was nominated to the Arts Foundation Award for Young Theatre Directors. Amber is a seasoned practitioner and academic in the marketing, advertising and digital communications industries, having spent her early career founding and managing a number of advertising, marketing and digital agencies, working with BBC Worldwide and Trinity News, amongst others. She has also completed an MA in Social Sciences, where she developed her research skills in the humanities, with a particular interest in the nature of personal and group identity.
Began teaching and researching in 2002, lecturing and consulting in media, advertising, communications, innovation and employability skills, and leading a number of degree programmes and frameworks.
Career highlights include: setting up my own marketing consultancy, with just £200 in the bank, in the 1980s, securing key accounts in the UK with publishing giants such as BBC Worldwide and Northcliffe News during the 90s, becoming a fully fledged academic and head of education, and now transferring all that teaching experience into distance learning on the MA in Marketing and Digital Communications.
Ananya is an educator, problem solver, entrepreneur, lecturer, lawyer, author, and startup advisor with 10+ years of entrepreneurial, academic, and advisory experience.
Ananya is currently a Lecturer in Digital Marketing at Cornwall Business School, Falmouth University. In her role as a lecturer, she is leading the marketing modules at the business school's undergraduate courses and leading the social media and outreach of the school. In her bigger role as an educator, she is collaborating on knowledge exchange projects with industry partners, researching community-based recycling models, and pursuing her PhD in measuring the impact of incubators and accelerators globally from Falmouth University.
Before academia, Ananya founded and worked in two startups working with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in different markets. She also founded and exited Unico Legale, a legal and strategy firm, and ran a philanthropic venture in data-driven business decision-making - both in the Indian market. She has completed working with startups, incubator managers, and the Wadhwani Venture Fastrack (partnered with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation) team as a Startup Fellow, to strategise and deliver workshops, coach startups, and help incubators build robust programs. She has published her book on achieving operational excellence for early-stage startups, based on a 6S framework she devised from her knowledge of lean Six Sigma and agile methodologies.
Ananya has delivered keynote speeches on startup compliance, viability, sustainability, and when to quit at various conferences and continues to train young adults on different relevant issues.

Andy's career began as a musician; composing and performing material with Detritus, and recording the albums Perpetual Defiance and If But For One (Edge Records/Music for Nations). He then studied graphic design over a period of six years; initially in Cornwall, and then in Edinburgh, graduating with a first-class honours degree in Visual Communication and later with a Master of Design (MDes Graphic Design).
He worked commercially in Scotland with Millhouse Design Consultants developing the print & exhibition spaces for the (then) new National Museum of Scotland, as well as working on broader editorial and identity projects. He then moved to Navyblue Design Consultants working as a New Media Designer on web, CD-Rom and moving image projects for clients that included Tony Stone, Ellesse and Orange, together with award winning work for EPCC (part of Edinburgh University).
Andy started teaching part-time in 1998 at Glasgow School of Art, and set up [ nbuffalo ] in 1999 as an informal umbrella for his own commercial and personal work. He has been teaching at Falmouth since January 2000, co-ordinating both the first year (2001-06) and final year (2006-2016) of the BA(Hons) Graphic Design programme. He is an active member of the International Society of Typographic Designers, has been an invited assessor at the ISTD Student Assessment Scheme since 2004, and part of the education team since 2013.
He continues to design under the [nbuffalo] name, and his wider design & research interests include recording & re-utilising creative processes, together with exploring the broader communication complexities of liturgical form and space. Clare Bottomley is an artist, educator, and early career researcher, originally from Gloucester UK, now based in Helsinki, Finland. Bottomley completed her BA in Documentary Photography before continuing to study a Photography Master's at the Royal College of Art, where she stepped away from documentary approaches and turned the camera on herself to explore methods of self-representation.
Bottomley self-portraits explores possibilities for re-enactment to destabilise ways in which narratives of the past are narrowly constructed to privilege hegemonic conformity. Combining performativity with her own feminine, queer, nonconforming body, she re-imagines historical imagery, to critically engage with cultural mythologies and origin stories and develop re-enactment as a method of deconstructing histories of normative oppression.
Bottomley's experience in creative educations and research into critical pedagogy has led to collaboration playing an important role within her practice, which utilises collective approaches encompassing photography, video, and participatory workshops, when working closely with community and individual artists.
Bottomley's work has been exhibited and screened across the across UK and Internationally including, Barbican London, Science Museum London, Mission Gallery, Swansea and Photographic Centre Nykyaika, Finland.

I have been an art lecturer since joining the then new art Foundation Programme at Strode College in Somerset as the part-time sculpture specialist shortly after graduating in 1994 and have been a full time art lecturer and programme leader since 2000, also teaching on many other courses across a range of specialisms in that time.
For 15 years I lived in Bristol with my family and had art studios at Mivart Street and Artspace, helping to develop and move the studio group into an empty former Tea Factory, now known as Spike Island. I worked in the 1990's as a community artist managing creative projects for the council in Withywood and was also involved with many other artist led groups to develop, fund and deliver arts programmes and opportunities for artists in the city. Alongside my work in education and fine art I have been a diving instructor, and have been diving for over 30 years, and have worked as a book illustrator, for three years with Dorling Kindersley UK to develop and complete the book 'Shipwreck Detective' in 2006. I also make puppets and props for theatre, have worked as part of a creative team with the joint charities at the Glastonbury Festival and I'm a keen bee keeper. I have maintained an active studio and exhibiting fine art practice, in drawing and sculpture, for 30 years and develop and show new work regularly.
Alongside teaching and course management roles I have for the last 5 years also been completing a Fine Art practice-led PhD and working as a Doctoral Teaching Assistant with Plymouth university and Lecturing into the BA Fine Art Programme. During the pandemic I contributed regularly to online teaching forums like the Isolation Arts School, built art teaching content on YouTube, spoke at Virtual conferences and also did some work as a VL on the Falmouth BA(Hons) Drawing programme - before starting in my current role at Falmouth University in the summer of 2022, as a senior lecturer/module leader for Fine Art and Drawing IFY group and as the Course Leader for the Integrated Foundation Year.

Emily Alden is a dancer and choreographer who works across dance and theatre, live and digital formats and communities. Originally from the Midlands, Emily trained in Contemporary Dance at Bretton Hall College of Arts in Yorkshire and is now based in Cornwall.
Emily has worked extensively as a dancer in touring and site based productions with companies including WildWorks, Rosemary Lee, Cscape, Kneehigh & Simon Birch working under the direction of Emma Rice, Yael Flexer & Agnieszka Blonksa. Her dance films created with filmmaker Brett Harvey (Kneehigh, o-region, Lucasfilm) have been screened worldwide. Flora Bowden is an artist, researcher, and educator. She is interested in bringing historical sources into dialogue with contemporary artistic processes and in asking how meaning is forged, destabilised, and reimagined in different contexts and moments. In her most recent work, she is using the fluidity and materiality of paint to ask these questions and to examine ideas of provisionality, instability and endurance in the image. Flora is a practice-based PhD candidate at the Royal College of Art, she joined Falmouth University as an Online Tutor on the MA Fine Art (Online) Sustainable Strategies module in 2022. She has taught on a range of programmes since 2012, including at the Royal College of Art, Imperial College London, and Rice University, where between 2015 and 2018 she convened a summer programme focused on sustainability and urban form.
Flora has also worked on a number of academic research projects that explored different aspects of sustainability. Between 2012 and 2015 she was a Research Associate at the Royal College of Art, where she worked on a European research project funded by Interreg, with partners across Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands. Through this project she led a series of drawing workshops with students and members of the public, at exhibitions and events at the Royal College of Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and Gothenburg University, in collaboration with NASA. She is therefore very interested in cross-disciplinary working and public engagement, and the work from her UK-based workshops resulted in a book publication titled Drawing Energy, which was published by the Royal College of Art in 2015.

Georgie Bennett is a freelance illustrator, workshop facilitator, and lecturer. Clients include The Folio Society and Elementum Journal. She works on reportage and narrative based projects and was a member of the Chronical Residency Programme in 2018. Georgie specialises in making work inspired by real locations, drawing and painting en plein air and discovering places by virtual travel.
In partnership with her illustration practice, Georgie delivers workshops for local and online communities. She has launched public drawing events at the home of Charlies Darwin with English Heritage and at Dunton Green, her home village in Kent. Georgie established an online virtual travel drawing series in 2021, which you can find on Instagram @sketchbookeventure
Georgie graduated with her BA(Hons) degree in Illustration from Norwich University of the Arts and completed her Masters degree in Illustration: Authorial Practice and PGCHE at Falmouth University. She joined the Illustration team at Falmouth in January 2021.

Gina Burney is an illustrator/graphic artist, workshop facilitator and lecturer.
Graham graduated from Brighton Polytechnic with a BA(Hons) degree in Graphic Design and Illustration in 1985. Four years ago he relocated from Brighton to run his own design studio and focus on his printmaking practice.
He has art directed magazines and campaigns for some of the biggest and most respected brands in global publishing, including the FT, The Economist and The Observer. Previously, his agency experience focused on the music industry, designing record sleeves, posters, advertising and marketing campaigns for Virgin, EMI, Sony and the Mercury Music Prize, amongst others.
During the past 30 years of commissioning for editorial magazines and newspapers, he has built close relationships with many of the most celebrated illustrators and agencies in the UK and globally, and has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the design and publishing industry. In his role as Art Director, he has regularly reviewed portfolios for both younger graduates and established artists, providing constructive feedback and how to implement this into their practice.
