Ash Green Vale

Ash Green is a semi rural village in Surrey, south of the larger village of Ash, and is a popular residential area reaching to the lower slopes of the Hog's Back. It has lovely views over areas of open heath land, and the line along which trains once ran is now opened up for public access.

Celia Markham

Job Titles:

Having started her career in estate agency in 1988, Celia offers clients a wealth of expertise and experience. Drawn by Mackenzie Smith's reputation, Celia was familiar with us when she joined the company. Celia has lived locally since 1995, enthusiastic about the range of recreational activities, and schools, plus the connections to London and Gatwick. When she isn't spending time with family, Celia enjoys swimming, walking, keep-fit, and Yoga.

Charlene Batts

Charlene joins the Lettings Team as our new Property Manager. Arla PropertyMark Qualified, she brings to Mackenzie Smith a broad depth of knowledge in compliance and legislation. Charlene welcomes our goal to treat every client as if they were the only client, and is in her element when resolving a query. Outside work, Charlene's husband and five year old daughter are at the heart of her world. She enjoys trips to Cornwall and supports South African teams in rugby and cricket, too. We hope you will join us in wishing Yasmin, Jessica and Charlene all the best for their future careers at Mackenzie Smith.

Cove Brook Greenway

Cove Brook Greenway is a two mile wildlife rich green area running North to South cutting through the built up area, open to all. There are paths along most of the course. The area is preserved by Cove Brook Greenway Group who carry out surveys, clear rubbish and maintain and enhance the environment for the various species in the habitat, including; water voles, herons, kingfishers and several sorts of fish. The group can also provide equipment, learning materials and ideas for teachers and groups such as Cubs and Brownies. The majority of local schools are located in Cove, there is Fernhill Secondary School, Cove Secondary School, Cove Junior School, Cove primary School, Guillemont Junior School, Pinewood Infants School, Parsonage Farm and Cherrywood infant school. Local sports clubs include Cove Football Club and Cove Cricket Club, there is also a lawn bowls club. Cove is ideally located for families and professional alike and offers convenient commuter access both by road and by rail with access to the M3 (London Heathrow) and the south coast, and also by rail with Farnborough main line station serving London Waterloo in under 40 minutes. There are two other stations in nearby Farnborough, we have Farnborough North and North Camp Station both serving Reading-Gatwick via Guildford.

Crookham Village

Crookham Village dates back at least as far as the Domesday Book, although Crookham Village and Church Crookham did not become separate entities until the founding of the Christ Church in 1840. Crookham Village lies across the Basingstoke Canal from its neighbour, in a more rural setting. One of the old houses to the South West of the village was formerly King Henry VIII's holiday home, where he stayed during the hunting season to hunt deer (which gives Hart District its name).

Dan Franklin

Since entering the world of estate agency in early 2014, Dan has enjoyed successfully moving people into their dream homes all over the North Hampshire region. Dan quickly progressed within the industry, offering valuations since late 2015 and has worked diligently to ensure he not only meets the expectations of clients but exceeds them on a daily basis. Transparency and strong customer service are two elements that Dan prides himself on. As part of the Yateley team, he looks forward to continuing to support the local residents with years of experience, helping their future property goals to become reality. In his free time, Dan's a keen football fan, supporting the South's very own Southampton FC. When he isn't watching the Saints, Dan can be found playing drums in a cover band.

Darren Allett

Few can match Darren's varied career, which has taken him from owning a bar on the Canary Islands to managing the Devon and Cornwall region at a corporate estate agency. Now back at Mackenzie Smith for a second spell, Darren can call upon 25 years of property experience and an unrivalled knowledge of the local area to deliver results for any client. Darren has two daughters, aged 12 and 18, which sees him doubling up as a taxi driver during much of his time off. When he does get a moment to himself, he heads off to the greens for a round of golf.

Ed Mackenzie Smith - Chairman

Ed began his career in Estate Agency in Camberley, Surrey in 1972. He was responsible for launching a land and new homes business for a highly successful competitor in 1986 before stepping out in 1991 and founding Mackenzie Smith from a single office in Fleet. His specialisation in land and development along with new homes has enabled Mackenzie Smith to enjoy considerable success in this field since the formation of the company 22 years ago. As Chairman, Ed not only steers the direction the company will take and oversees the success of all our offices and departments, but is also heavily involved in the land and new homes part of the business. Ed's extensive background working in property sales and lettings, and with some of the most well-known new homes developers in the region, makes him the ideal figurehead for the company as we continue to grow and move forward.

Ethan Goulden

As a local himself, Ethan was introduced to the team from his own house sale. "We were all impressed with the quality of service, and I think there is no better agent to start and grow my career with." In his spare time, Ethan is a keen photographer, with a passion for Formula One, film, music, and art.

Jason Bowden

Jason started his career in the property industry as a trainee at a corporate agency in London. A quarter of a century later, Jason has now mastered every aspect of the industry, successfully valuing and selling hundreds of homes in the process. He believes the key to delivering exemplary service and results lies in communication. It's why he makes a point of keeping everyone involved in a sale informed each step of the way. Having lived and worked locally for over 15 years, he's well aware of the amenities that the local area has to offer and promotes this to potential buyers.

Jessica Knight

Jessica brings a bright, bubbly and driven personality to the office. Joining the Aldershot team as a Senior Client Manager, she has worked in estate agent roles contrasting from online investor sales to in close-knit communities on the high street. Jessica was attracted to Mackenzie Smith by the longstanding team and evident prospects in career progression. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys cooking, long nature walks and has been a Chelsea fan since the age of 10. Jessica embarked on her career in the property industry in 2020, after five years in sales and business development. With experience as a traditional high street agent in family-oriented communities such as Horsell, Guildford and Ascot, Jessica has also worked for an investor focussed, online estate agent. For Jessica, the pull of Mackenzie Smith was the long-standing team showcasing opportunities for career progression and personality of the company, which resonated with her own. Outside of work, Jessica loves cooking, driving across the country and long nature walks. She is also an unwavering Chelsea fan, loyal to the football team since the age of 10. Lloyd Clarke

With over two decades of industry experience, Lloyd brings passion and knowledge to the Hartley Wintney team. He relishes the opportunity to market the more unusual and unique properties that the local area has to offer, using his keen eye for detail and interest in photography to present these remarkable homes in the best possible light. The local countryside and woodland is a real pull for Lloyd, and one of the many reasons that he has lived in Hampshire all his life, with his wife and daughter. As a motor sport enthusiast, Lloyd takes particular interest in the British Touring Car Championship, as well as making the annual pilgrimage to Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Mark Wilson

Nick Kirby

Nick has been in a customer facing environment for nearing twenty years and strives to deliver the very best experience for both buyers and sellers. Coming from a background in retail management, Nick has been working in agency now since 2016 and has experience selling in both town and village locations. When it comes to working with people, Nick likes to keep a very open and honest relationship, keeping all parties informed to ensure the best possible outcome. Helping people find their ideal home is always his key objective. Nick has two young children so there is not a huge amount of ‘spare' time, but loves a family day out and is also an avid film fan.

Paul Hillyer

Paul brings a passion for property and a broad depth of local knowledge, inspired to become an agent after seeing his parents move. He finds great satisfaction in seeing his clients achieve their dream home and holds efficient customer service in high esteem. Having started out in the industry back in 2008, Paul has worked in various settings, from large corporates to small independents. In his free time, Paul's a keen football fan and likes nothing more than watching his son play. He enjoys exploring the local green spaces, keeps fit at the gym, and makes the occasional trip to London.

Paul Phelan

Paul is a highly experienced property professional, having worked within the industry across a range of local towns and villages; Yateley, Camberley, Fleet, Farnborough, Hartley Wintney and Odiham, over the last 30 years. Paul offers exceptional local knowledge; combined with his professional background he also lives in Frimley where his sons went to school, this helps Paul to come up with valuations that take into account community assets as well as a property's design and footprint. Day-to-day, Paul likes the people side of the property industry, meeting and helping clients from all backgrounds. If he's not at his desk or out and about with clients, chances are Paul will have found some coffee and cake, combatted with his love for cycling and table tennis, he's even a qualified table tennis coach!

Pedro Barros

Pedro joined the Aldershot team with experience in the industry dating back to 2002. Having started out his career as an estate agent with national corporate brands, Pedro has loved having a more personal approach to sales, something Mackenzie Smith prides itself on. "The customer service focus was really what attracted me to the team, we genuinely treat each client as if they were our only client. I personally aim to offer the best moving experience possible which with a great team in Aldershot, we're well placed to offer." When he's not selling houses and assisting clients, Pedro enjoys watching boxing or can be found in the kitchen trying out a new recipe.

Stephen Tetlow - Managing Director

Stephen is one of Mackenzie Smith's most recognisable faces, having joined the company upon its opening in 1992. He has always been a driving force within the sales teams thanks to his vast experience of working in the industry since the 70s. While Stephen has valued and sold thousands of properties during his career, his attitude to his work has always remained the same. He understands that selling such a large financial asset is a huge responsibility, and he's always willing to go the extra mile to repay his clients' trust. Like a lot of his peers, Stephen takes to the greens during his time off. He believes that the concentration needed to play golf makes it one of the easiest ways to switch off from work.

Steve Panther

Property is all Steve has ever known having entered the industry as a trainee negotiator straight out of school in the mid-80s. Over 30 years later and Steve still gets the same sense of satisfaction that he did on day one from helping someone to move home. His endless energy, combined with his unmatched knowledge of Farnborough and its surrounds, means there are few better when it comes to accurately valuing property in the local area. When Steve isn't selling homes, his time is mostly spent with his family. As a father to three children between the ages of 3 - 12, Steve believes that he could also classify as a part-time taxi driver.

Toni Scriven

Toni has been an agent in England and Amsterdam since 2006, having previously worked in banking. Before joining Mackenzie Smith, Toni ran her own estate agency in Surrey. With her heart in the housing industry, Toni describes Mackenzie Smith as her "best fit", embodying how she prefers to work. Toni enjoys meeting people and guiding them through the sales and purchase processes with an honest, efficient, and "can-do" approach. Local to the area, Toni appreciates the diversity of this "up-and-coming" location. When Toni isn't selling homes, she revels in learning new languages, already fluent in Dutch, plus working on her French and Spanish. She loves to ski and keeps fit at the gym.

Tracey Easton

Tracey has been with Mackenzie Smith since July 2007, joining as a branch secretary advancing to PA to the MD within a year. Through lots of hard work and training, Tracey progressed to Accounts and HR Manager, more recently being promoted to Financial Controller. This diverse and challenging role is highly demanding and Tracey rises to the challenge. Her knowledge and insight into the business through these specialisms is absolute.

Yasmin Andrews
