BLAIKLOCK CARPENTRY - Key Persons
With both a degree in Architectural Engineering and over thirty years of hands-on experience, Ed's education in the building trades continues to this day. He has worked alongside career carpenters who have shared their knowledge on various jobsites; attended conferences and workshops on techniques and research; and maintains several professional memberships that supply him with information on the latest trends in the field.
The older houses of Maine provide the challenges that Ed seeks: repairing and modifying historical buildings requires an understanding and appreciation of traditional methods and materials combined with a good grasp of modern materials and building science. Although he will take on any project he finds interesting, Ed prefers the structural rehabilitation of historical buildings and historically sensitive woodworking.
