Aishling Hickey

Aishling is CLM's Legal Secretary and also co-ordinates our free legal advice phone clinic. She first joined CLM in 2015 as a Community, Education and Mediation Volunteer Administrator and returned in 2019 to take up the role of Legal Secretary.

Carita is a financial consultant who works with Bank of Ireland, leading their Benefits E2E Customer Journey Transformation. She is a chartered accountant, and brings strong financial expertise to the Board of CLM.

Clodagh Daly

Clodagh Daly joined CLM in July 2021 as Manager of the Centre for Environmental Justice. Clodagh's background is in climate and environmental policy research and campaigning, from human rights and just transition perspectives. Prior to joining CLM, she worked with UCD's "Effective Nature Laws" research project, as (a voluntary) campaign coordinator for Climate Case Ireland, and in research consultancy roles. Clodagh is continually engaged on a voluntary basis with Climate Case Ireland, the Latin America Solidarity Centre, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Northside Partnership. Clodagh joined CLM in July 2021 as the Manager of the Centre for Environmental Justice.

Deborah Maguire

Deborah Maguire is Head of Knowledge Management, BT Group Legal Governance & Compliance. She previously advised the Director of Corporate Governance of BT Group plc, and the BT Compliance Committee, a sub-committee of the BT Group plc Board which is responsible for managing BT's relationship with Ofcom, the UK telecommunications regulator. She holds BCL and LL.M degrees in law from UCD and a Certificate in Employee Share Plans from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

Denise Leavy

Denise Leavy has more than 25 years commercial and voluntary sector experience in administration, recruitment, marketing and finance. For over 15 years, she has managed the administration team in Community Law & Mediation (CLM). Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, she is currently responsible for the Human Resource Management, Fundraising, Finance, Reporting and Governance functions of the organisation. Denise holds a BSc in Business Administration and Marketing and a Diploma in Business Management. She has also successfully completed the Leadership Development for Transition and Change Programme. Denise Leavy has more than 25 years commerical and voluntary sector experience in administration, recruitment, marketing and finance.

Diane Duggan

Diane Duggan is a barrister since 2006 with degrees in psychology and law. She practices in a number of areas including Children's Law. She is a Chairperson of the Mental Health Tribunals and also sits on the board of an International Aid and Development Education organisation named SERVE in Solidarity (Ireland). Diane was co-ordinator of the Bar of Ireland's Voluntary Assistance Scheme from 2013 to 2016 and frequently provides legal services on a voluntary basis.

Elena Pacheco Loor

Elena joined CLM in December 2022 as a Legal Administrator. She holds a Masters in Law as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Law, both from her native country of Spain. She completed a Diploma in Legal Administration in Ireland. Prior to joining CLM, Elena worked as a Legal Assistant for a large Dublin based Legal Firm. She has a keen interest in Human Rights.

Elizabeth Devine

Elizabeth Devine joined CLM in 2019 as the Policy and Communications Manager. She is responsible for coordinating CLM's policy and law reform agenda and for its programme of communications with stakeholders. She has more than 10 years' experience working in the area of public affairs, stakeholder engagement and policy development, having previously worked for Tourism Ireland and Fennell Public Affairs. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Policy and Practice, a Certificate in Public Policy Analysis and an MA in European Studies.

Fodhla O'Connell-Grennell

Fodhla joined CLM in September, 2022 as a Communications Officer. She holds a MSc in Climate Change: Policy, Media and Society from DCU and a BA in Journalism and BA in Communications and Media Production from Griffith College Dublin. She is a current part-time lecturer in Griffith College Dublin, as part of the Journalism and Media Communications faculty. Her background is in public relations and marketing, with a specific focus in environmental communication. Prior to CLM, she has worked with Thinkhouse as part of the PR & Advocacy team, spunout as the Circular Economy Project Officer, vYtality, (a division of Vital Communications) as an Account Executive and freelanced with businesses, such as, Sustainable PR, Change by Degrees, Conscious Cup Campaign and more.

Frank Clarke

Frank Clarke SC was Chief Justice of Ireland from July 2017 until October 2021. He was called to the Bar of Ireland in 1973 and to the Inner Bar in 1985. He was appointed a judge of the High Court in 2004 and a judge of the Supreme Court in 2012. He is a Bencher of King's Inns and an honorary Bencher of Middle Temple. He is a former professor at King's Inns, a Judge in Residence at Griffith College Dublin and an Adjunct Professor of Trinity College Dublin. He is currently Adjunct Professor at the School of Law in University College Cork. Mr. Clarke is a member of the panel provided for in Article 255 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to provide an opinion on the appointment of judges to the Court of Justice of the European Union. In January 2022, he was appointed as a director to the Irish Horse Racing Regulatory Board (IHRB). Mr. Clarke was elected Pro Chancellor of Dublin University in February 2022.

Jane O'Sullivan

Jane joined CLM in 2013. She holds a Masters in International Human Rights Law from NUI Galway and a degree in Law and French from University College Cork. She completed her traineeship in McCann FitzGerald Solicitors and practised in employment law with Daniel Spring & Co. Solicitors for three years post-qualification. She has also worked with Front Line Defenders and has been involved in activism and community engagement throughout her career. Jane specialises in employment law and equality law, and has experience in housing law, social welfare law as well as other diverse areas. She represents clients in the WRC and in the Courts, delivers community education and training, and works in law reform and policy, particularly in the area of access to justice.

Joanne Durnin

Kathy Treacy

Kathy joined CLM in April 2020 as receptionist (part-time). She greets all visitors to CLM and handles queries by phone. She also helps coordinate CLM's free legal advice clinics. Previously, she worked in legal administration roles.

Lindsey Liston

Lindsey's area of interest and speciality lies in social and educational inequalities and the role education plays in shaping life outcomes. She received her PhD from NUI Maynooth, where her research explored the relationship between schooling and involvement with the Justice system. Lindsey has 15 years of experience working in the Community and Voluntary Sector across Early Years, Youth Justice, Family Support and Community Development in underserved communities in Limerick. She is an active member of several Boards of Management and Advisory Groups in Schools, Restorative Practice, Development Companies, Community and Youth Centres and Access to Justice (including CLM Limerick Advisory Committee). She is the Chairperson of Southill HUB, the Chairperson of Paul Partnership Research and Evaluation Subgroup and recently completed a 3-year term as independent Chair of the Ballincurra/Weston Limerick Regeneration Residents Committee. Currently she works at the University of Limerick in the area of Access and Widening Participation among underrepresented groups in Higher Education.

Martina Brennan

Martina joined CLM Limerick in 2019. Prior to joining CLM, Martina specialised in criminal and civil litigation. Whilst working in this area Martina saw a huge injustice for those who could not afford legal fees or avail of civil legal aid scheme. Since joining CLM Limerick Martina has specialised in housing law and homelessness. Martina also co-lectures in Housing Law and Policy at the University of Limerick.

Mary Heavey

Mary joined CLM in March 2022. Prior to joining CLM, Mary completed her traineeship at Arthur Cox LLP and worked with the Employment Law Group at Arthur Cox post-qualification. She also holds a Masters in Law from the University of Edinburgh, where she focused on international and human rights law. She previously volunteered with FLAC and Family Carers Ireland. She also participated in numerous pro-bono projects at Arthur Cox.

Paul Rogers - Chairman

Paul Rogers is the CEO of Northside Partnership. He has extensive experience of working within the community and voluntary sectors in the area of community development, strategic planning, organisational development, communications, project management and IT. A native of Coolock, he previously worked for 14 years for Dublin North West Area Partnership in a number of senior roles including that of Local & Community Development Programme Manager.

Ros Palmer

Ros Palmer has been working in the community and voluntary sector for 20 years, 14 of these years with CLM. As the Community Education and Volunteer Manager at CLM, Ros manages the legal training and mediation services. She also has overall responsibility for all volunteers and interns working with CLM. Over the years she has sat on various boards within the sector both in her professional capacity and also as a volunteer.

Rose Wall - CEO

Rose has been the CEO of Community Law & Mediation since 2013. She previously held the position of Managing Solicitor of the Mercy Law Resource Centre where she advised and represented clients who were homeless or at risk of homelessness in the areas of housing and social welfare law. Having qualified as solicitor in 2008, Rose initially worked as plaintiff litigation solicitor representing clients before a variety of fora including the Hepatitis C and HIV Compensation Tribunal and the Residential Institutions Redress Board. She also volunteered during this time with FLAC and Ballymun Community Law Centre. She is a former law lecturer in a wide variety of areas with Griffith College Dublin and the Law Society of Ireland. Rose is a solicitor and holds an LL.B. and LL.M. from the University of Dublin, Trinity College as well as a diploma in environmental law from the Law Society of Ireland. She is a member of the Law Society, Human Rights & Equality Committee, a Board Director with the Immigrant Council of Ireland, Community Foundation Ireland and a member of the International Bar Association Access to Justice Committee.

Ruth Barry

Ruth joined CLM in 2018 to provide expertise in the area of children`s rights and social welfare law. She provides legal advice and representation in these areas and advocates for changes in the law where necessary. This work has equality and human rights at its heart. Ruth has more than 10 years' experience in human rights law at an international and national level including for the UN OHCHR and law firm Leigh Day in London, UK.

Rónán O'Brien

Rónán served as Chief of Staff to Labour Leader Ruairi Quinn to 2002.He served as Director of Communications and Marketing at the Institute of Chartered Accountants between 1993 and 2011. In 2011 he was appointed Special Adviser to the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Brendan Howlin. From 2016/17 to last year, he acted as Head of Communications at the National Digital Research Centre. Rónán was recently awarded an MSc in Climate Change at DCU.
