Andrew H. Davis

Andrew W. Davis

Andrew's practice is focused on all aspects of corporate, estate planning and estate administration. Andrew advises clients regarding corporate, and estate planning matters, including the use of sophisticated strategies to transfer wealth among generations in order to minimize taxes and maximize asset protection. Andrew represents and advises corporate clients with regard to daily operations and strategic planning, including negotiating and drafting commercial contracts, leases, sales agreements, shareholder agreements and HR policies, as well as the sale of closely held businesses. Andrew is adept at finding creative and practical solutions for clients in both a business and estate planning context. Andrew represents both individual and professional fiduciaries in all facets of the administration of trusts and estates. He counsels clients with respect to probate law matters, estate related litigation, income tax planning, estate tax planning (including special needs and Medicaid planning), preparation of fiduciary and estate tax returns, tax audits and appeals before the Internal Revenue Service. Andrew is involved in all aspects of charitable planning from advising clients with respect to charitable giving, including the establishment of charitable remainder and lead trusts to the creation of private foundations, as well as advising nonprofit and for profit corporations on governance and corporate issues. When requested, Andrew serves as trustee and executor for his clients. With more than 30 years of skilled experience, he has the ability to efficiently communicate with beneficiaries to provide the highest level of fiduciary oversight to ensure that trusts function as intended. Andrew received a B.A. from Vanderbilt University and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Texas and Wyoming. Andrew has been involved with the Rhode Island Free Clinic as a board member for many years and serves on the boards of a number of private nonprofit foundations, as well as a past board member of Mental Health Services, Inc.

David Maglio

David Maglio is a Principal at David E. Maglio & Associates, P.C. He received his B.A. from Fairfield University in 1983 and graduated cum laude from Suffolk University Law School, receiving his J.D in 1986. Mr. Maglio was admitted to practice in Rhode Island State Court in 1986 and in Massachusetts State Court in 1987. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for Rhode Island and Massachusetts and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He has since tried over 45 jury trials and two major non-jury trials. For over 28 years, David has dedicated his practice to handling civil litigation matters for individuals and businesses in Rhode Island and Massachusetts State and Federal Courts. His areas of practice include but are not limited to, business litigation, plaintiffs' personal injury, first and third party insurance defense, plaintiffs' medical malpractice claims and construction litigation.

Thomas H. McHugh

Thomas concentrates his practice on business, estate planning, probate and trust administration. Thomas works with business leaders to determine and facilitate their legal needs. This includes organization of entities, transactional matters, sale or acquisition, or succession planning to new generations of business leaders. Thomas also acts as outside general counsel to a number of entities of various sizes and complexity providing strategic legal and business advice relating to contract drafting and negotiations, jurisdictional and tax issues, and employment matters. Thomas has extensive experience in the area of trusts and estates, including advising trustees and trust beneficiaries concerning all areas of administration and disposition of trust assets, including estate tax mitigation. Thomas has represented clients in contentious disputes of breach of fiduciary duty by trustees. When probate or guardianship is necessary, Thomas works closely with families, executors, estate administrators and beneficiaries navigating estates through the courts, including disposition and distribution of common and complex estate assets. Thomas received a B.S. from Roger Williams University and a J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Florida. Thomas is a member of both the Business Organizations Committee and Probate & Trust Committee of the Rhode Island Bar Association, and a member of the Estate Planning Council of Rhode Island. He has served as an officer and board member on a number of nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations. He also spent over a decade as a board member and volunteer with the Fox Point/East Side Little League in Providence, Rhode Island.
