Aleck Vasiliou

Aleck Vasiliou established Cabletek Systems Inc. in 1999. Originally a local structured cabling company with a few technicians, Aleck always focused on building relationships and ensuring his customers needs came first. Cabletek would have its peaks and valleys over the years but remained a small business. In 2014, Aleck was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Keeping up with the day to day became increasingly difficult for him and as a result, Aleck became unsure as to where the company's future was heading. In late 2017, Aleck took on a business partner under a new company name and Cabletek became inactive. Having worked together on many projects in the past, it seemed to be a good fit combining Aleck's expertise with that of his new partner. Aleck's son, Chris, began working for the new company as a technician in 2018. He had graduated from a Civil Engineering program earlier that year. Aleck quickly learned that this partnership wasn't working out as he had hoped. It created nothing but stress and anxiety for Aleck and only worsened his condition. Having watched his father's health diminish, Chris took it upon himself to learn what he could to help his father in any way possible. After several challenging years, Aleck and Chris were able to exit the company, but were unfortunately left with very little to show for all the years of hard work. Having forced to start over, in October 2021, Cabletek was reactivated. Aleck and Chris had their work cut out for them essentially starting a new business during the pandemic, not to mention an ex-business partner who would continue to cause grief for the Vasiliou family for the next 2 years. Putting these distractions aside and with a motivation like none other, Chris with support from Aleck began to rebuild Cabletek with a major focus on putting systems, structure and personnel in place that would assist in long term growth and expansion of the company. Part of the rebuild was to also expand the services in which the company could provide.
