Adele Lehane's PhD (2006-2010) on the mechanism of chloroquine resistance in the malaria parasite was carried out at the ANU. Immediately following her PhD, Adele relocated to Columbia University on an NHMRC Overseas Biomedical Fellowship (2010-2012) before returning to the ANU for the Australia-based years of the fellowship. Adele is currently an ARC DECRA Fellow and a Senior Lecturer at ANU.
Adele uses and develops physiological and biochemical techniques to study the mechanisms of action of, and resistance to, antimalarial drugs. Her most recent research is centred on ion regulation in malaria and Toxoplasma parasites as a source of new drug targets.

Carolyn Behm received a BSc (Hons) in Cell Biology and Zoology and a PhD from The Australian National University, in which she studied biochemistry of tapeworms. After several years' teaching and research at the University of Malaya, she returned to the Department of Zoology at The Australian National University to investigate biochemistry of helminth parasites. In 1987 Dr Behm commenced a lectureship in the Department of Biochemistry, where she taught cell biology and biochemistry while continuing research in helminth biochemistry and host pathophysiology. She held an ARC Senior Research Fellowship from 1992-1997. In recent years Dr Behm's research has focussed on aspects of nematode molecular biology, using the powerful model organism, Caenorhabditis elegans.

Joe Altin received his BSc followed by a Grad Dip Sci in 1985 (ANU), and his PhD (ANU) in 1988. From 1988-1990 he held a post-doctoral position at the University of California, Irvine, USA. He then returned to Australia to take up a Research Fellowship position at the JCSMR (ANU). In 1997, he established his research laboratory in the then Division of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the ANU Faculty of Science, after being awarded NHMRC and commercial funding. A major focus of his research has been to develop patented technology to facilitate the use of stealth liposomes, as targeted nanoparticles or delivery vehicles for antigens, drugs and nucleic acids, for the development of novel effective liposomal vaccines and cancer immunotherapies.

Joe Brock studied a Bachelor of Medical Science at ANU before completing a PhD at the Research School of Chemistry (2007-2012), focusing on the structural and mechanism of a human detoxification enzyme. He then accepted a position at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, to work on the structure and function of integral membrane proteins involved in lipid mediator biosynthesis (2013-2017). He then moved around the lake to Stockholm University for a position in the lab of Dr David Drew, working on the structure and mechanism of integral membrane transporter proteins (2018).

Prof. Maier moved to the Department of Biochemistry at La Trobe University as ARC Australian Research Fellow and lab head in 2008 to investigate red blood cell modifications induced by the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum.
Prof. Alex Maier joined the Division of Biomedical Sciences and Biochemistry at The Australian National University in 2012. His research activites have been recognised by several awards including being a finalist at the Eureka Awards and a Laureate of the Khwarizmi International Award. He is an Alexander-von-Humboldt Fellow, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the Australian Society for Parasitology.
