The first Yoga class I attended was when my daughter was 9 months old. I was seeking something more in my life and soon realised that Yoga was for me! My teacher was inspiring and motivating. However, she often asked me to demonstrate a posture (asana) in front of the class, saying "this is how it should be done". Sometime later, one of the students who became a good friend, expressed how small and useless she felt when that happened. That teacher made me realise a very important lesson, that Yoga wasn't about competition and how perfect we are able to do a posture, it was about learning at our own pace, listening to our body and ‘going with the flow'.
