This semester I have decided to take PAW 1005: Yoga to help myself touch my toes. Initially, this was all I wanted to get out of it because I used to think yoga was simply stretching on a mat surrounded by people that are far more flexible than me. Coach Vega, my instructor, helped me realize there is more to yoga than stretching. Yoga has a mindset that is a culmination of one's body, mind, emotion, and energy. Right now, I go every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1pm with my Yoga mat that I got for Christmas. On the off days, I try to do nighttime routines that I find on YouTube to help me learn independently for after college... Before I started Yoga, I could barely stretch passed my kneecaps because I never believed that stretching was essential. Growing up, all I did was run and play tennis, and when I stretched, I was worse at what I was doing, so I decided that stretching sucked.
