OLIVIA'S HEART

My name is Olivia Rae and I was born on 1/25/06. As far as my mommy and daddy knew I was going to be a healthy little girl. However, I was born at 38 weeks, 3lbs 9oz. No one knew that I was going to be this little or little at all. Besides a bit of heavy breathing and a heart murmur I was okay. But because I was so small and full term I was sent to All Children's Hospital to find out why. On 1/27/06 the doctors told my mommy and daddy that I have a Congenital Heart Defect called Truncus Arteriosus Type I. They also suggested that I get a test done to see if I had a genetic condition called 22q Deletion Syndrome or DiGeorge Syndrome. About a week after that, the results came back positive for 22q. 22q is the deletion of part of the 22 chromosome which can cause up to 186 different anomalies, including my CHD... I had my CHD repair on 3/07/06, I was 6 weeks old and 5lbs. I was finally able to leave the hospital on 3/31/06. The doctors told my mommy and daddy that I was the best Truncus..
