The Zeta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota was founded on November 27, 1911 at the College of Musical Art in Indianapolis, IN. In 1928, Arthur Jordan bought and joined the Indiana College of Music and Fine Arts and the Metropolitan School of Music to form the Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music. As the Zeta chapter prospered, the Arthur Jordan Conservatory joined with Butler University to become the Jordan College of Music in 1951. When dance, theater, and visual arts came to Butler in 1978, the College of Music became known as the Jordan College of Fine Arts (JCFA). In 2006, JCFA was awarded accreditation from the National Association of School of Music (NASM) and is now the Jordan College of Fine Arts School of Music.
