Howard W. Harris

Dr. Harris is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon in both sports medicine and orthopedic trauma. In his practice of medicine and care for the injured, he has recognized a need for the reduction of risk and subsequent prevention of slip and fall incidence's and injuries for individuals in all walks of life. Dr. Harris has lectured extensively on the management and prevention of injuries in the athlete and has carried this philosophy over to the safety industry for the prevention of slip and fall injuries in our communities. He serves as the Medical Advisory Board Member for the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI) and has addressed the NFSI board and insurance industry representatives on multiple occasions regarding the medical implications and impact of slip and fall events on society. He has also participated in the creation of a documentary on walkway safety aired on PBS for the NFSI and played a critical role in the development of the NFSI Walkway Surface Auditing Guideline. Dr. Harris also serves as Chairman of the ANSI/NFSI B101 Main Committee.
