Paul J. Garrity graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He later went on to obtain a law degree at Boston University. He was recognized as a New Hampshire attorney in 1986 and that same year he became a member of the United States District bar in New Hampshire. In 1990, he passed the Massachusetts Bar Exam and was also honored as a member of the United States District bar in Massachusetts. While he was earning these achievements, Garrity also earned a membership in the United States First Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2003, he was also accepted Pro Hac Vice in the United States District Court for St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
