Matthew S. Meza

Mr. Meza has extensive experience in a wide range of commercial real estate, renewable energy and corporate financing transactions. His practice concentrates on the development, acquisition, sale and financing of commercial real estate and renewable energy projects, particularly wind and geothermal energy projects. He represents owners and sponsors, developers, lenders and other participants in a variety of complex transactions. Over the past few years, he has worked on the development, acquisition and financing of a number of renewable energy projects in California, New York, Vermont, Maine and Oregon representing over 290 MW of power, represented commercial real estate investors acquire approximately 6,000 multifamily apartment units in California, Nevada and Texas, and represented private equity groups acquire, lease, finance and dispose of approximately 400 gas station and convenience store properties in California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon and Washington. More recently he has represented numerous buyers of distressed notes secured by real property of several types including retail and hotel. Education Mr. Meza graduated from the University of California - Berkeley in 1984 with a degree in Economics, and from the University of Michigan Law School in 1987 with a Juris Doctor. In 1982, Mr. Meza was awarded a scholarship by the American Economics Association to attend accelerated Economics classes during its Summer Training Program at Yale University.
