IMAGING COE

In 2014, the Imaging CoE was established, headquartered at Monash University in Melbourne. Funded with over $39 million, the Centre brought together leading biologists, chemists and physicists from five Australian universities, as well as scientific and commercial partners globally. Collectively, we have developed new microscopy and imaging techniques that allow us to visualise details of how the immune system functions... Our imaging program encompasses a broad range of technologies - from the atomic scale to the cellular scale - aimed at uncovering structural and dynamical information of molecular interactions. We leverage the capabilities of X-ray, electron and more conventional optical microscopy techniques to develop novel ways of extracting richer spatial or temporal information from the biological systems studied...
