GREEN SCHOOL

Energy conservation has been a continued focus for WHMS. Calvert County Public Schools challenged all their schools to reduce energy consumption. We have consistently shut down computers, lights and Smart Boards when not in used. But to fully meet the energy challenge, we have conducted annual energy audits to identify areas still in need. As a result of the audits, we have replaced many lights, placed timers and sensors on many sections of the building, conducted a full overhaul of our HVAC system and eliminated unnecessary small appliances.
