Ana Pimentel

Job Titles:
  • Communication Design
She has a degree in Communication Design from the School of Arts and Design of Matosinhos and has specialized in Graphic Design and Editorial Projects at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto. She has considerable experience in the development of editorial, branding and museography projects in the tourism sector. Currently, she coordinates the Communication Design area at IPDT, being the creative responsible for all editorial projects of the company. Ana actively participates in the management of digital communication, producing and developing creative pieces for social networks, promoting campaigns in different and adapted formats and managing different portfolios.

António Jorge Costa - President

Job Titles:
  • President
He has a degree in Management and Public Administration, from the Technical University of Lisbon and a PhD in Strategic Planning in Tourism and Hospitality, from the University of Surrey (United Kingdom). He was also a consultant to UNWTO, UNDP and UNCTAD. He is part of the Strategic Council of the Portuguese Hotel Association, the Sectorial Council for Education and Professional Training of Tourism and the External Evaluation Committee of the Foundation of Portuguese Universities (Ministry of Education). From 2017 to 2019, at the invitation of the World Bank, he took on the role of Specialist in Strategic Tourism Development, with responsibility for producing the Strategic and Marketing Plan for Tourism in São Tomé and Príncipe. In 2020, at the invitation of the Government, he led the project to establish the School of Hospitality and Tourism in this country.

Joana Duque

Job Titles:
  • Digital Marketing
She has a degree in Marketing Management from the Portuguese Institute of Administration and Marketing (IPAM Porto) and a postgraduate qualification in Digital Marketing from EDIT Porto. She currently works with IPDT in the area of Digital Marketing. In the area of digital communication, she stands out for her work in website management, creation and management of social networks, creation and management of social media ADS and Google ADS, e-mail marketing, Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimisation. Her activities include developing content for various media and promotional materials. Joana also collaborates actively in the development of tourist experiences, as well as in the structuring and promotion of tourist products, providing support throughout the various stages of the projects. At the same time, she is part of IPDT's events department and is involved in organising and promoting the IPDT Tourism Conference.

João Gomes

Job Titles:
  • Executive Director
João is also responsible for IPDT's market studies, namely those leading to the preparation of the Diagnosis and Situational Analysis of the Strategic and Marketing Plans.

Marcília Almeida

Job Titles:
  • Web Development
Collaborates with IPDT since March 2003, accumulating functions in web development. Marcília has experience in creating interfaces using HTML, CSS and Javascript, back-end data integration, WordPress, Woocomerce, as well as creating and managing social media ADS and Google ADS, e-mail marketing, Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimisation. She was responsible for the development of several tourism websites and portals, such as Sustainable Azores or Discover Melgaço. She has coordinated several in-company training projects for private and public organizations of the tourism sector. She has also participated in the collection and analysis of data in several market studies in terms of data collection and analysis to gather tourist profiles, notoriety of destinations and evaluation and monitoring of events for several clients from the public and private sectors. She is currently responsible for the management of the Tourism Barometer, a project launched in 2007, which presents the perspective of the evolution of the Portuguese tourism sector.

Mónica Montenegro

Job Titles:
  • Executive Director Marketing and Communication
Graduated in Marketing, Post-graduate in European Tourism Management and an MBA. She was a consultant for multinational groups operating in the pharmaceutical, electronics, petrochemical and tourism sectors, where she coordinated and developed projects in the areas of customer service and consumer behavior, strategic planning and marketing. She was a lecturer and researcher at the Universities of Bournemouth and Surrey in the United Kingdom, having developed action of continuous education and action learning at the level of graduate and postgraduate training. Currently, she is the Executive Director of IPDT for Marketing and Communication; she is the Marketing Director of the "'Tourism in' Yearbook; and editor of the annual special issue of WHATT magazine (World Hospitality and Tourism Themes). She has extensive experience in the tourism sector, acquired through the coordination and execution of consultancy projects for national and international clients, from in the public and private sectors, focusing her intervention on the development of tourism companies and destinations- product and market development, investment attraction and branding strategies.
