Alexis McGill Johnson named permanent Planned Parenthood President | Planned Parenthood Video Play Alexis McGill Johnson named permanent Planned Parenthood President | Planned Parenthood Video Alexis McGill Johnson is president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Action Fund and Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), a national leader in sexual and reproductive health and education. Through a network of 49 affiliates, Planned Parenthood health centers provide vital health care to more than 2 million people each year at nearly 600 health centers across the country, so that everyone - no matter who they are, where they live, or how much money they make - can get supportive, high-quality health care to live full, healthy lives. Alexis is a longstanding champion for social and racial justice, a respected political and cultural organizer, and a tireless advocate for reproductive freedom. She has been part of Planned Parenthood's leadership for more than a decade as PPFA board chair, Planned Parenthood Federal PAC chair, and a Planned Parenthood Action Fund board member. Alexis co-founded and co-directed the Perception Institute, a consortium of researchers, advocates, and strategists who use mind science research on race, gender, ethnic, and other identities to help reduce bias and discrimination and improve equity. She is a frequent commentator in the press and a keynote speaker. She serves on the board of the Leadership Conference for Civil and Human Rights and is a founder of the Culture Group. Alexis has a BA in politics from Princeton University, an MA in political science from Yale University, and taught political science at Yale and Wesleyan universities.

Dawn Laguens is executive vice president and chief global strategy and innovation officer at Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). For more than a decade, Dawn has been dedicated to strengthening the connections between the domestic and global reproductive rights movements. Dawn is a co-founder of the Billion Girls CoLab in Nairobi, Kenya, a girl-led sexual health and rights research and development lab in partnership with global innovation firm IDEO.

Dr. Sara C. Flowers

Dr. Sara C. Flowers is vice president of education at Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). She is an advocate for evidence-based sex education that is informed by emotional intelligence. Her experience is focused on ensuring that sex education curricula is adapted appropriately and followed in practice, dismantling sexual and reproductive health disparities, serving youth of color, and strengthening abortion access. As vice president of education, Sara sets the vision, priorities, and strategy for sex education and training at Planned Parenthood. She is the Planned Parenthood spokesperson for sex education, providing context and framing for the many ways sex education supports and advances PPFA's vision and mission. Dr. Flowers was previously the director of youth initiatives for Love Heals Center for Youth and Families at GMHC. She was also an adjunct assistant professor for York College, CUNY while serving as a post-doctoral research fellow for the college's Collaborative Research Group on Health Policy and Promotion and the UrbanHealth Lab. She is a recognized speaker at regional and national conferences, with expertise in issues related to race and gender equity in health care. Sara has a PhD in public health from the Graduate School and University Center, CUNY, and a BA in psychology and an MPH degree from George Washington University.

George Walker is chief equity officer at Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). George is an executive coach with a background in diversity, equity, and inclusion. He is also a leader in advocacy, development, and partnership cultivation. George served as the director of diversity and inclusion for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. President Barack Obama appointed him to the White House Initiative for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Karl Eastlund

Karl Eastlund has been the CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho (PPGWNI) since 2011. Prior to becoming CEO, Karl served as the organization's COO. Before working for Planned Parenthood, Karl was a Principal with Mercer Consulting in Dallas where he worked with Fortune 500 companies on performance management and incentive compensation strategies. Karl was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala, and has also worked for Deloitte and Touche, Dell Computer Corporation, and the Department of Defense. Karl has an MBA from the University of Texas and is a CPA.
