PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT COACHING - Key Persons

Amy L. Hooper

In order to reach out to more individuals in need, Amy L. Hooper, LCSW-C, CEAP, opened her own private practice and is the director of Another Look at Healing, LLC - Gaithersburg Counseling Center. Amy started her practice in 2008 from a one-clinician part time practice, into what it is today: a thriving multi-clinician, private pay practice and wellness center with a wait-list and administrative support offering individual, couples, family and group therapy. Shortly thereafter, Amy began mentoring and coaching other therapists who wanted to start private practices or to get more clients in their current practices. Along the way, Amy realized there is a huge need for business coaching. How to run and effective, efficient, ethical business is an area of knowledge that most clinicians do not learn about in school and with out some basic business skills, building a private practice can be difficult and overwhelmingly anxiety provoking. Amy LOVES helping clinicians learn everything from how to limit liability, to how to set fees, create a website, stay HIPAA compliant, to how to add associates, build multiple streams of income to how to generate more ideal clients with a business and marketing plan. Amy uses her warm personality along with a willingness to share her experiences and expertise to engage her coaching clients in the process of starting or revitalizing their private practices. She has a supportive, collaborative relationship with coaching clients, allowing for quick results and practice growth. Amy holds a Masters degree in Social Work with a Clinical focus in Mental Health from The University of Maryland, School of Social Work. Throughout her Master's degree, she worked with a variety of individuals with a range of issues to help them find the paths to happier, healthier, more fulfilling lives. Amy is also certified in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), a specialized training to help individuals, businesses and organizations during crises. She is also a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) and was the secretary for the Potomac EAPA chapter for 4 years. Amy has recently become a member of the National Association of Professional Women, an organization recognizing the country's most accomplished professional women.
