ALEX MORGAN

Job Titles:
  • SENIOR ENGINEER
With a BEng in Chemical Engineering (Hons) and BSc in Chemistry from the University of Sydney, Alex started his career in engineering consulting and project management firms, supporting clients in food & beverage and chemical manufacturing industries as well as the telecommunications sector. He has worked for a number of years as a Project Manager, successfully managing projects up to £3million for multinational clients in South East Asia and North America. Alex has long been enthusiastic about renewable energy technologies. In fact, his Bachelor Thesis investigated the suitability of different sorbents for CO2 capture and sequestration. To better align his interests with his career and become specialised in renewable energy project delivery, Alex obtained a Masters in Sustainable Development at Leipzig University in 2019. Here he learned about the latest in renewable energy technologies and the policy environment promoting their uptake. Alex is passionate about managing the delivery of renewable energy projects to the highest possible standards and is excited to be doing this as part of the ReEnergise team.

BELINDA LYSTER-BINNS

  • SALES & MARKETING MANAGER
Belinda joined ReEnergise in 2017 to work with Nigel to help build our profile in key markets and deliver new business leads. She comes from a sales and marketing background having worked in the construction and property sector for over 20 years, including overseas in the Middle East and Latin America. Belinda is passionate about climate and the environment, so has a personal and commercial commitment to working on decarbonisation and renewable energy.

CAMILLE TROTTIER

Job Titles:
  • PROJECT COORDINATOR
Camille graduated from university in 2021 having completed a BSc in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a focus on politics and economics. She is passionate about the environment, having steered her studies towards environmental policy. During her studies, Camille spent a year working in Paris as an intern in EDF's strategy department, where she was able to develop her understanding of the energy sector's approach to climate change. She joined ReEnergise as a project coordinator at the start of 2022, keen to develop her knowledge in the renewable energy sector. Her primary role is to work on smaller scale projects, from coordinating the initial stages and collating data to writing final reports.

CATH THOMPSON - Secretary

Cath joined ReEnergise in September 2014 after a career break to look after her 3 children. She is a qualified management accountant who is new to the renewable energy industry, but has previously worked as a management accountant in the not-for-profit sector and IT industry after a brief career in the Army. She recently completed her OU degree in Maths, gaining a 1st. She manages the company's accounts, assists with client VAT reviews, and also does the maths for the ReEnergise Independent Schools Energy Matrix (a useful tool for benchmarking).

CLARE SLIGHTAM

Job Titles:
  • STUDY MANAGER
Clare has 20 years' experience working as a geologist in the oil and gas industry. The highlight of her career to date was being instrumental in discovering an oil field in the North Atlantic. After mapping the subsurface geology and planning where to locate the exploration well, she was on the offshore rig when oil was first brought to the surface. She went on to help design the development wells and, after an extensive capital raise, assisted in getting the field on production ten years later. Clare has additionally worked as Operations Manager for a company that supports biomass and Energy-from-Waste power plants, allowing them to stay online for longer. Clare's experience of planning complex projects and working alongside engineers is of great value to ReEnergise.

DR AMANDA HOPPER

An Environmental Scientist with a degree in Environmental Science and a PhD in waste management from the University of Plymouth, Amanda has three decades of experience, in the UK and internationally, supporting environmentally sound decision making and liability reduction programmes. She has experience of landfill construction and operation and has worked in environmental consultancies as well as with a multinational oil and gas operator where she was able to hone her technical and project management skills. As well as being an expert in waste management, she happens to be highly organised and proactive, and is an excellent fit to provide project oversight and delivery support across a range of our studies. Amanda is keen to promote net-zero through the variety of projects which ReEnergise work on so we are able to provide a sustainable future for generations to come.

DR MELANIE LAWRENCE

  • SENIOR ANALYST
Melanie graduated as a civil engineer and has a PhD in the field of geotechnical engineering. Most of her career (over 30 years) has been with Transport for London, where she gained a broad depth of experience across a range of technical and management roles including design, maintenance project delivery and asset management, including strategic and business planning of capital and operational plans. In 2015 she became an independent consultant specialising in asset management, business case development and investment appraisal, working with various organisations to help them maximise value and to achieve cost savings through improved decision making. Melanie is passionate about the environment and was keen to transfer her knowledge to the renewable energy sector so was delighted to have the opportunity to join ReEnergise in 2020. She is primarily involved in the early stages of a project undertaking cost benefit analysis, feasibility studies and project scoping.

GARETH JEFFERIES - COO

Job Titles:
  • OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
A Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers with extensive contracting and consulting experience in the management and delivery of large-scale projects across both the UK and the Middle East in Director roles. These projects ranged from new build schools, hospitals, and mass housing through to retrofit of MEP packages and infrastructure projects. Over the past 10 years Gareth has led large multi-cultural teams and managed subcontractors to deliver projects to schedule and budget whilst ensuring that Client expectations and quality standards are satisfied. Joined ReEnergise in 2021 and is responsible for providing oversight across a range of projects and ensuring that any issues that arise are manged in a pragmatic and cost-effective manner.

GRAHAM YOUNG

Job Titles:
  • STUDY ENGINEER
Graham started his electronics and electrical career as an apprentice working with data and voice communications on military defence contracts. After completing his technician apprenticeship, he progressed into electronic systems engineering working on radar and sonar telemetry projects. As a systems engineer he moved into the commercial sector specifying and designing Healthcare and Ministry of Justice site-wide communications projects. Utilising his systems engineering background and technical attributes he entered the developing lighting controls market and continued to specify, design, implement and commission systems, working with stakeholders from desk-top concept to on-site completion. In the role of Study Engineer, he uses his experience for the surveying, analysis and design specification of the electrical power, monitoring and controls requirements for the ReEnergise team's estate decarbonisation solutions.

IAN PORTER

  • SENIOR POWER CONSULTANT
Ian has many years of experience in the design, development and delivery of large-scale energy efficiency and power generation projects and is passionate about clean technologies that enable positive change for our environment. Following a long career in IT and Telecoms, Ian held a senior role for Honeywell where he was responsible for leading commercial and project teams to deliver high-value energy performance contracts and generation projects to public and private sector organisations. During this time, Ian was responsible for the delivery of a £30M Ofgem sponsored innovation project which was the first of its kind in the UK. Ian's role at Reenergise is to create and provide commercially attractive onsite power generation solutions for our clients from initial feasibility through to project delivery.

LIAM O'DONNELL

With a BSc in Physics and a BEng (Hons) degree in Energy and Environmental Engineering, Liam has always had a keen interest in sustainability and renewable technologies. A lot of his passion and interest has come from his time volunteering in the UK, Ghana, Uganda, and Bangladesh for a variety of charities working on a range of different projects. After spending time with these organisations, he has seen the issues they have with access to affordable, safe, and clean energy. This was the main catalyst for his return to education attaining a degree in Energy and Environmental Engineering. During his degree he undertook a dissertation on creating a feasibility study for an off grid solar PV system to power a rural school in Ghana. He is excited to expand his knowledge and expertise while working on renewable energy projects with ReEnergise.

MATTHEW TOTMAN

Job Titles:
  • PROJECT MANAGER
Matthew has had a keen interest in engineering since finishing his education in 2018 which led him to join the Royal Navy, beginning training in a Mechanical Engineering role. In his pursuit of challenge, he transferred to commission as an officer in the Royal Marines in 2020 and completed commando training. This ultimately led him to hold responsibility for the augmentation of the Royal Navy's engineering response to the hurricane season in the Caribbean. There he developed an understanding of the cost of extreme weather events to British protectorates and overseas territories, which in turn inspired him to pursue renewable energy projects after leaving the military. He joined ReEnergise in 2023.

NIGEL AYLWIN-FOSTER

Job Titles:
  • BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Nigel completed a full first career in the Army, including command of the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment. He retired as a Brigadier. Despite being a philosophy graduate, his final appointment was Director of the Technology Division at the Defence Academy, responsible for technology education and project management training across all four Services. He joined ReEnergise in 2015. He is a keen advocate of tackling Climate Change, but sees his primary role as providing pragmatic advice on the potential risks and benefits of each opportunity for a project, rather than taking a purely evangelical stance. Whilst the nature of the role demands a strong technical grasp of low-carbon technologies his approach could be summed up as: ‘let's please keep it clear, straightforward, and think about it from the client's perspective.'

OLIVER JAMES

Job Titles:
  • BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
Ollie graduated university in 2021 with a BA in International Business. He credits a number of influential moments as the driving force behind his passion for sustainability. During his studies he spent 3 years in the Southwest of England where the impacts of climate change are threatening the natural beauty of the region, and a year abroad in central Canada, where unprecedented springtime snowstorms are resulting in wide scale floods. After this, Ollie started as a bid writer for a Fortune 250 engineering firm. However, his interest in sustainability had never waned, so he was keen to make the move to a company that shared his passion of looking after the world around him and joined ReEnergise in 2022.

RICHARD SMALMAN-SMITH

With a keen interest in the environment and alternatives energy sources from an early age, Richard has recently obtained a distinction in renewable energy engineering from Kingston University. His earlier degree was in engineering (civil and mechanical) from the University of Oxford and he combined this with employments in engine research and power station operation. Richard also has considerable experience in independent schools as a teacher and sports coach. Building on this academic background, Richard is excited to be bringing decarbonisation schemes into educational establishments as part of the ReEnergise team.

STEVE FAUCHERAND - CEO

  • CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Steve graduated as a civil engineer and has successfully run civil engineering tasks worldwide, culminating in a £120m UK multi-site project. He then made the transition to telecommunications infrastructure, learning the art of running independent businesses within the discipline of the GEC structure. He has subsequently run progressively larger international technology businesses and has a track record of turning around loss making businesses. Steve's interest in the low-carbon space started about 5 years ago and he decided to set up his own business, but his relationship with ReEnergise began almost immediately and he moved to become Commercial Director, and now CEO. Steve is responsible for running the business and deploys his great depth of commercial, organisational and particularly project management experience to ensure that the business delivers for its clients.

TOBY NICHOLS

Toby Nichols joined ReEnergise in 2018, bringing with him the expertise of a Chartered Engineer. He has a BSc Hons in Chemical Engineering and 30 years of management consultancy, innovation and renewable energy experience. With this background, he serves as a vital link between the decarbonisation goals of educational institutions and the engineering technologies required for their realisation. He has a strategic mindset which he combines with a well-develeloped understanding of low carbon technologies, market trends, and regulatory landscapes. He is adept at tailoring decarbonisation strategies to each school's unique needs, drawing upon a toolkit of renewable energy offerings. His proficiency lies in effectively communicating the value of low-carbon solutions to a wide range of stakeholders - from school heads, bursars and governors through to estate managers and maintenance teams. He has a pragmatic, professional style that instils confidence throughout his teams.
